Posted by a parent on 10/20/2025The principal and assistant principal are extremely rude & talk to the students like they’re inmates. You can’t get in contact with teachers & they do not take bullying seriously. I do not recommend this school. The students run this school.
Posted by a parent on 3/6/2022I'm beyond happy with the way this school is run and how the staff go above and beyond to, not only provide a safe, disciplined environment for my child, but the way they listen to the students/parents concerns, needs, and problems with an attentiveness that is nearly impossible to find these days.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCopeland has made a 180 since last year. The new Principle has done wonders for this school. My kids actually loved this year. The new teachers are great. One of my kids made the Gift program. Im so happy with this improvement. Way to Go new Principle Dr. Taylor!!!! 2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have a 3rd grader and kindergartener in the school this year and so far we love it. It is a smaller school so everyone becomes like a family. The teachers are very sweet and you can tell they love what they do. We especially love Mrs. Caudill (K), Mrs Pirkle (music), Mrs. Danner (3rd) and Mr. Cardoza (PE). I'm sure I'm leaving off some but these are the teachers that my kids come home talking about every day, excited about what they are learning. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was told by the Special Education board that everyone wants to get into this school, but I was literally begging to get out. Front office staff is extremely rude and when I complained to the Principal, she did nothing and allowed the staff to be petty towards me. The kinder autism class is even worse. The teacher is passive aggressive towards the kiddos and has the paraprofessionals doing her work. I had to speak with paraprof every day during pickup to find out how my child was doing in class because the teacher wrote me generic daily reports. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI really wanted to like this school. Overall, for certain children, this is probably a great school. We went to this school for my son because of the additional resources there, that we felt could help with his special needs. We were open with his needs sending records, etc. there were limited to no accommodations made to support his needs. He was treated as a behavioral issue, despite level of education among all the staff and experience working with children. It was clear after a certain point that no one read his records to determine how in the classroom he could be supported.
