Do not send your child to this school as long as the principal and assistant principal are there. They speak to people in the rudest way and think it's ok. I've written downtown on them several times and nothing has changed. I removed my child and you should to.

This is the beginning of 2025-2026 school year and fourth year our child has attended E. Rivers (3rd grade now). Our child is happy, likes th teachers and has friends. There is a wonderful cultural mix of students, white, black and Asian. It provides a rich environment. Being white and from Europe we really like the diversity. Parent involvement is very high and there are many ways to get involved - one-of volunteer opportunities to more in-depth involvement - all are welcome. The school staff all appear to be well organized and led by the principal and are all on the same page. No gossiping or complaining, but very professional, hard working and always available to meet with parents. The PTA is active and provides a great deal of communication with the home through twice weekly newsletters, school-wide picnics, car wash, international dinner events and many other events.The facility is modern, well maintained with subject specific classrooms to fully engage the students. There is plenty of outdoor space for recess and recreation. Kiddos, the afterschool program on-site is well loved by the students and always full shortly after registration opens each year. We have been very happy with E. Rivers and feel we have a gem for our local elementary school.

Our scholars are entering into first grade and this will be their 3rd year here. All of our home room teachers have been receptive of any/all assistance given. A lot of STEAM enrichment programs from hydroponics to chickens! Administration seems receptive to feedback and community engagement.

We have been at The Children’s School for the last five years and it has been a wonderful experience. We joined TCS in the Early Learning Program when our youngest daughter was 3. We originally heard about TCS through a family friend and as we went through the admissions process we really fell in love with the school and the other parents we met. Since being at TCS we have loved the community – it’s a wonderfully diverse, down-to-earth, caring community. The teachers at TCS also really make TCS special – they are compassionate, caring, and really focus on knowing and helping your child learn and grow as an individual. As we have moved into early elementary grades we have been very pleased with the curriculum – TCS uses Math in Focus (Singapore math) like most of the other top schools in the area, they have really increased their focus on phonics and follow the Orton-Gillingham approach. It has also been great our youngest daughter has been able to get support for speech right on campus through their Learning Support Services. We are so thankful to have found TCS and believe it is truly a hidden gem in our community!

ALHAMDULILLAH this School & the teachers are GREAT MashaAllah classroom settings are small which ALLOW the kids/teens to FOCUS FOCUS. ALL MUSLIMS KIDS/TEENS NEED TO BE IN A MUSLIM ENVIROMENT WE ARE A MIRROR REFLECTION OF EACH OTHER. THE PRINCIPAL (BROTHER BAH) 5STAR***** IS SUPPORTIVE TO THE KIDS/TEENS GROWTH AND EDUCATION. Your kids/teens are reminded of Allah daily and they pray so your kids/teens won't miss their prayers. THEY WEAR UNIFORMS WHICH ELEMATES THE STRESS.

This school is horrible, teachers are so disrespectful to students and the teaching is terrible and majority of the female teachers like to argue with students just for entertainment or just to get them in trouble to lie and make a large deal, they love to be gossip with students or with other co workers and cause bigger problems. Most teachers don’t even teach they just do slideshows and give out work without explaining, Some teachers treat bad students with more respect and they will receive more rewards than other students that actually trying to maintain good behavior or trying to stay out of stuff. Most students aren’t able to read or write, it’s always fights daily. Disrespecting others and trying to get a reaction out of others. The school in general is genuinely disgusting, there would be mold on the ceilings, food on the waterfountain or spit, there would be rats inside the ceilings or dead bugs on floor daily. The food is terrible there can be mold on the fruits or food and the food would be gummy or undercooked. The lunch ladies are worse they are disrespectful to students and not caring what to give to the students. Some male and females have questionable relationships with the students. The restrooms most of the time have feces smeared on the walls or the sinks, they restrooms have holes inside the stalls making it easy for people to see or watch people use the restroom, and not providing soap or toilet paper daily. The janitors are lazy too, Janitors curse out some students because of the slightest things and they just talk and barely does any work while just staying miserable. The school does not suspends or expels students for not the right amount of time. For example students fought and they get suspended for 1-2 days instead of 10 days or more, this school also lets anybody in without checking for any weapons creating a risk of some students getting hurt making an unsafe environment for students. The nurses doesn’t even do their job or rarely even comes to do their job. The front office ladies are so disrespectful to others coming in trying to greet them or trying to ask questions.
