Read what parents are saying about Marist SchoolFirst off the community at Marist is top notch, most of the families are very supportive of the students and the school. My problem is with the staff and safety at the school. My son was shadowing his eighth grade year at the school. While in PE class his sponsor student, and several other students at the school began to Vape in the locker room. My son gave in to the peer pressure from the older boys and did try it. We found out about it when we picked him up. The head of the school told us exactly what had happened, but did not even bother to apologize . Absolutely nothing was done to the students, and even after trying several times to get some answers about how this happened the school refused to respond - other than to refer us to their legal advisors. We decided right then an there that we would not even bother to apply here. We do have many friends who attended this school and have children who currently attend. They have their own issues, but that is for them to review.
Posted by a community member on 11/30/2023The school does a great job with bullying and has an effective administration. Anyone who says other wise is a parent looking in and doesn't fully understand the inner workings of the school. The teachers are some of the best in the state and many have moved from being college professors to teaching here. They are harsh and demanding but know how to prepare you for college.
Posted by a community member on 9/6/2019Awful, with three kids and the history of bullying and now an investigation around boys and suicide after they leave you have to wonder what is really happening. Teachers bully and so does administration when pushed to see the obvious. Some teachers PE dont have a bachelors. Your voice will not be heard. Balance between girls and boys sports not existent. If want your child to lack confidence and be humiliated this may be the place for you.

Posted by a community member on 9/9/2018There are literally too many instances of bullying to count at this school. But the one that especially stands out to me was my senior year when nine boys in my senior class were bullying me on Facebook in our senior group. I took screen shots and presented the entire conversation to the Dean of Students, who simply told them "not to do it again." There was no disciplinary action taken, despite these boys threatening my safety and even drafting a petition for me to not attend my own prom.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur child is thriving here since we went back in person. Great community and teachers and admins who care. Any school these days could use more resources and less complications to deal with but all said and done, the kids are learning a ton, the community is great.Parent Review2y ago - Huntley Hills Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDefinitely a diamond in the rough. We have an amazing community of families! Building up students through STEM, Music, Spanish, Reading Buddies, and PBIS. It is one of the smaller elementary schools, with great student to teacher ratios, few trailers and amazing opportunities for all students.Parent Review4y ago - Ashford Park Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHigh Point is incredibly special place. It is the epitome of a melting pot - where a variety of races, religions and cultures are represented and supported within the school. PTO is incredibly supportive and involved - always finding ways give back to the school and engage the community. It is the type of staff where most teachers stay for years and years (if not their whole career!) The principal is incredibly supportive of the teachers and knows almost every single student by name. They do not just care about academics but the character and integrity of the child. If you're looking for a school that is going to leave your fifth grader missing it for years to come, this is the place. One note: If your child has major learning disabilities but is still making good grades, any public school in the area is not going to be the perfect fit. This is at the fault of the county (and state) not the schools. The county dictates a low percentile cut off to serve students with additional small group support. Some students who could use intervention do not qualify because their scores are not low enough.Other Review2mo ago - Atlanta Jewish Academy
