Ashford Park Elementary School

Great school!!! Administration is awesome! Dr. Haddock and Dr. Blanton know how to lead by example!!! They both genuinely care about students’ well being and stand up for their teachers!!! The students have lots of leadership opportunities in the upper grades and lots of extra curricular activities (Art club, Chorus, Beta, etc.). We even had a parade for our students during COVID-19. (It was of course socially distanced!!)

Great teachers, great STEM learning, great clubs, and wonderful and kind administration.

Don’t send your kids here. There are much better private schools. The school acts like they fix all the social issues but nothing is changed. The teachers aren’t great; however, there are some amazing teachers who actually care and teach correctly. A lot of kids struggle because most of the teachers don’t teach. This school also teaches you to be a horrible person. to survive you have to learn how to be a fake and mean person. If you don’t do a sport at this school you feel left out. The kids at this school are all depressed. The administrators seem like they try to do stuff but they don’t. Some kids get in trouble while others don’t for the same thing. A lot of the teachers have favorites and it is very known. Your grade can depend on if a teacher likes you or not.

I attended this school from Kindergarten to Eighth grade. I graduated and went on to high school and was extremely lost on how to write a proper paragraph, essay, etc. because I did not feel I was prepared for high school. I was in French class at St. Martins, when I went to high school and continued my education in French, I had absolutely no clue on how to have a half decent conversation, utilize proper grammar, or even count to ten. I never felt supported in my academics, only shamed if I did not do well. Of course there are a few teachers who I found to be great and create a caring environment but overall it did not feel loving. I experienced some forms of bullying at St. Martins and nothing was done to combat it. Now, St. Martins will always have a special place in my heart as I spent nine years of my life there, but I do think there is work that needs to be done.
