Read what parents are saying about King Middle SchoolStudents (especially the girl students) are sexually harassed with no punishment to their harasser, and in some cases, get in trouble for seeking justice. The administration justifies these actions and don't punish the male students because they’re on the football or basketball team. It’s horrifying, seeing your child be harassed in such a way with no repercussions. Please keep your children close and safe, because this school doesn’t.
Posted by a parent on 5/14/2022Please ignore any reviews that suggest that there is systematic racism against white students. The statement in itself shows a lack of knowledge of what constitutes systematic racism and reveals a clear bias. The reality is that some white parents are uncomfortable in predominantly black spaces and have a fear of black children. King Middle School has challenges including behavioral issues and some fighting. However, this is the current reality for schools all over Atlanta and the nation as a whole regardless or race, income and geography (intown, suburbs, rural). Students are struggling having to deal with the impact of Covid, the loss of socialization with friends, and for some being food and housing insecure. King Middle School is particularly impacted since the majority of its students are low-income. What we love about our school is that our teachers are veterans and committed to working at King specifically (most teachers I have talked to have been there 5+ years.) We are happy to have been granted an IB certification, and our school works hard to make real world connections for our students. This year we had an interim principal because our amazing last principal was promoted to District leadership. We are looking forward to working with a new principal and seeing what's in store for our diverse and growing community.
Posted by a parent on 2/2/2022Systemic racism and homophobia are prevalent at this school. My son is picked on daily for being both white and gay. He has his hair pulled and also beat up by another student (who was expelled). The administration has taken no action that has changed the situation for him at all. We are now leaving the city. We have little alternative but to move to a place where we are loved. Lots of promises no action.
Posted by a parent on 2/2/2022To me this is one of best middle school in Atlanta public schools. I feel that King Middle School do not get notice of the amazing work we do.
Posted by a student on 5/31/2015We are doing great things here. The leadership team, led by Mr. Brown has been a terrific change for the kids and continues to meld the school to great accomplishments.

The care and attention of all of her teachers thus far, our awesome Principal and administrators and the pursuance of excellence has made me a huge fan of this school. Not to mention the security is what i need to feel more secure in this day and age. Also my 3 year old is super excited to attend and there isn't much I can ask forParent Review7mo ago - Hope Hill Elementary School

It is an excellent school and all of our teachers have excellent. All of my questions to administration and staff are always answered promptly and given with more insight than I could have asked for.I love the principle, Ms Wheeler, and I only wish them the best of luck as they continue bringing excellence to our community everyday and uplifting the kids.Parent Review1y ago - Parkside Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience has been very Positive. We have absolutely loved our Elementary School teachers - 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade teachers have been amazing. My child feels safe and cared for. She also has fun and really looks forward to school and learning. The PTA does a great job of including families and Principal Foster, Miss HG and the leadership team do a phenomenal job of running this ship! The teachers and staff are especially supportive of kids that need attention and they have a lot of experience and patience working with kids from various backgrounds and learning levels. It is a very "inclusive" culture.Parent Review6mo ago - Country Village Montessori School
