King Middle School

This school is one of the worst. They will not and do not protect the children here. Teachers have physically assaulted special needs kids, and the entire staff plays clueless all while covering for each other. The staff is more concerned with Instagram, online shopping and YouTube videos. They watch children being bullied by other students all while the their heads yet will smile in your face. I do not and will not recommend.

I’m extremely disappointed with the communication and overall experience we’ve had with this school. For the past two years, I have sent emails to both the principal and front office regarding questions and concerns about my child’s education, and I have not received a response to any of them. As a parent, it is incredibly frustrating to repeatedly reach out and receive no acknowledgment or follow-up.My child is in the gifted program, yet he has consistently come home saying that he is bored and does not feel like he is learning anything. The gifted program groups students across different grade levels, which is not necessarily an issue on its own, but the program does not appear to provide the level of acceleration, differentiation, or academic challenge I would expect for gifted students. My concern is not about asking for special treatment. I simply want my child to be appropriately challenged and to continue progressing academically. Parents should also be able to communicate with school leadership and receive a response when they have legitimate concerns about their child's education. After two years of unanswered emails, I am very disappointed with the lack of communication and the apparent lack of urgency when it comes to addressing these concerns. There is significant room for improvement.

Our experience has been very Positive. We have absolutely loved our Elementary School teachers - 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade teachers have been amazing. My child feels safe and cared for. She also has fun and really looks forward to school and learning. The PTA does a great job of including families and Principal Foster, Miss HG and the leadership team do a phenomenal job of running this ship! The teachers and staff are especially supportive of kids that need attention and they have a lot of experience and patience working with kids from various backgrounds and learning levels. It is a very "inclusive" culture.

CVMS has been amazing for our family. Our children are truly thriving here. With such caring and dedicated teachers, they receive more individualized attention and are challenged in a balanced, thoughtful way. I only wish the school went all the way through high school! Even so, we feel confident knowing our children are receiving a high-quality education.
