Read what parents are saying about Medlock Bridge Elementary SchoolAmazing neighborhood school. Great leadership, engaged parents, caring tenured teachers. Consistently engaged to keep students safe and thriving.
Posted by a parent on 9/4/2023We have had a great experience at Medlock Bridge, halfway into our second year. Everyone at the front desk knows who I am and who my child is, which I have always really liked - and we're really not at the school much at all, they just know everyone! The teachers can be hit or miss, we've had one I would describe as adequate and one I would describe as exceptional, I think you'd find that most places in the suburbs. However what I truly appreciate is the level of care taken to ensure that each child is learning at their level and their pace. If a student is above or below grade level, the teachers are equipped and supported to be able to first identify and then address that student's needs. Additionally, some teachers are starting to utilize a communication tool that allows for photos and videos to be viewed by the parents to get a glimpse into their day, and I often see children able to learn in ways that they are most comfortable - some children are sitting at desks, others might be standing or even sitting on the floor. A lot of that is teacher-driven, not school driven, but it is supported by the administration that maintains current teaching trends and ensures an appropriate curriculum for each child. The PTO is very strong, there is a lot of community support, as well. We moved into the district for this school (and the MS/HS) and we've been very happy.
Posted by a parent on 12/3/2018We have been a part of this school for a year now and we could not be more pleased. We had left the east cobb school district because we were unhappy, boy am I happy we did! My son has had a positive change in attitude toward school and learning. My son came home the first day and told me that the teachers make learning interesting. And as a mother this is all that I can ask. Every time I have had questions or concerns they have always been achknowledged promptly and respectfully. This school has been a life changer!
Posted by a community member on 2/23/2017What kind of school is this if parents can’t participate in children’s Christmas party? Such a disappointment!!! Christmas is about the family and school doesn’t realize that kids want their parents during special celebrations, parents too. There is little to nothing of parents being allowed together with children on any special occasions at school, if you not a volunteer. Parents weren’t allowed to cheer their kids during Olympic Games fundraiser, because due to rain it was moved to school gym. The most you can do is eat lunch at the school with your kid, and still some cafeteria workers while chewing tobacco, come and tell you that my child only can take one friend to eat lunch, not two? Really??? This school is so family unfriendly and it’s such a disappointment.
Posted by a community member on 12/16/2015We have a kid in pre-K and one in Kindergarten and we are very happy with the school. The teachers are highly involved and very caring for their kids. The principal is also great and makes sure that the school is being lifted to higher levels every year and in a positive way. And most important our kids are very happy at school!

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has been in Findley Oaks since kindergarten, now first grade. He's grown so much, both academically and emotionally. The school does an amazing job with not only studies, but also with emotional support. The school also does a good job including parents in activities throughout the year; very family oriented and loving staff. I would highly recommend Findley Oaks.Parent Review7mo ago - Dolvin Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son left this school after last year and we had multiple unfortunate experiences with bullying. Our son was treated as if he was the problem and was suspended on several occasions as a 4th grader. His emotional well-being was jeopardized severely by the educators and staff who did nothing to support him. He was constantly made to feel like he was the issue. In our new school he’s done nothing but thrive this year. Truly consider the idea that Johns Creek produces some of the best schools before you register your child here. If I could do it over, we never would have attended.Parent Review3mo ago - Abbotts Hill Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have had four kids at the school. With the exception of one teacher, that was let go at the end of the school year for poor performance - the teaching staff and leadership at this school have been consistently great. Many of the teachers live in the same neighborhoods the kids do and it is a very supportive community with high levels of teacher and parental involvement.Parent Review1y ago - Wilson Creek Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a teacher and administrators myself in school and I have never experienced a more Poorly run school. They throw glitter around with social media presence but it’s a horrible school run by a bunch of “Karen’s!” Worst one being the vice principal who seems to have the principal wrapped around her finger. She discriminates against the non white non jock kids. Biggest bulky in the school and she loves the bullies. Turning to problem around and victim blaming. Don’t be fooled by the rating. Schools are about more than just test scores.Parent Review1y ago - Mount Pisgah Christian School
