Killarney Elementary School

The school staff are very rude and nasty and the learning material is not on par with grade level. I have had several safety concerns with this school as well that I'm currently addressing with the school board. My AB honoral student has hit a drastic decline in both grades and mental health since starting at this school. There has been an unwillingness to communicate from both the teachers and staff. My daughter's teacher has told her she can only ask two questions a day in class. Don't expect them to properly prepare your student for state tests either as you'll be left with no study material, no graded work from your student, and they don't even use a planner for communication.

I went to this school from Pre-K to the Fourth Grade. I am now 22 years old, just graduated college with a psychology degree, and I'm about to start my master's degree. I often think about how blessed I was to be able to go to a school like this. This school provided so many opportunities that helped me get ahead of most people my age. This school made learning fun and easy for a visual learner, like me. Some of the best classes that I took were: Spanish, Pottery, Etiquette, coding, and an amazing Literature class. There are no "stereotypes" here. Clubs are encouraged. I remember joining chess club when I went there and never worried about what anyone thought because this was a school where being smart was cool and accepted. I'm not sure how the school has changed over the years, but this was a very diverse school that provided lots of cultural knowledge and is still to this day, one of the best schools I have ever attended. I owe all of my future success to this school because It shaped me into the person I am today. My brother also went to this school and he is now a Doctor in Nebraska. If this school is anything as it was before, don't make the mistake of putting your child in a different school. This is a school with the perfect balance of challenge and encouragement, and I wish I had known what an impact it would have on my life at the time.

Our experience with St. Charles has been absolutely awful. We were lied to about their enrichment program and social-emotional development and support. Our gifted child was not challenged, and they would not take any steps to help her social-emotional growth (other than doing the same thing over and over again) and would not try to offer her harder material, despite stating that they have enrichment opportunities. If your child needs ANYTHING different than the "normal" do not send your child here. They will not receive the support they need.
