My journey through Foundation Christian Academy and High School, like every journey, had its happy and sad moments. I began attending this school during the fourth grade in 2013 and graduated as a Senior in 2022. Let us begin this review with the positive aspects. This school is great in the respect of the staff’s (the includes teachers and other members of the faculty) level of care towards the students. Surely, as in every school there are a few “bad eggs” within the staff, but, generally it is one of the more pleasant groups within FCHS. Another positive aspect of this school is the social event planning. The student government plans most of these events (Bonfire, game nights, etc). If you are worried about your child being exposed to anything unsavory during the dance events, there is nothing to fear. These events are highly monitored by the chaperoning staff and are kept under control. Now, onto the negative aspects. The first of these is the unorganized and inconsistent curriculum (different types all at state standards), which for each class is chosen by the teacher and must be approved by the administration (if this is incorrect, disregard, it’s what I was told by the teachers). The English class is an example of a class that has inconsistent curriculum because the students are taught things that have to do with literature (the good part) and things that promote anarchistic and progressive social issues which have no place in an English class at a private Christian school. Now, for the second point on the negative aspects. This is the student body. My class at least was the one you would have gotten a strange feeling about and thought that “something was in the water.” A few of them were fine people, but the majority had fake personalities. The rest of the student body is pretty much the same and puts a heavy emphasis on “in-groups” and other related factions (for the lack of a better word). The “sportsy” kids are the ones put to the top and run the show, as they are rarely caught doing anything out of character, and when they are it is only for the least troublesome scenario. If you are a person of a different denomination or beliefs, then your child will probably be ridiculed and mocked by both the teacher and the students who are part of their church, and they will most likely be mocked and told that they are going to hell if they don’t join their church. Make the wise decision!

FCA was a blessing to our family for 11 years for our children. We chose FCA for the smaller class sizes and christian setting. Our children grew right along with FCA. The teachers care about each of their students and pour into their students daily. They had the blessing of being challenged academically and spiritually in their years at Foundation Christian Academy. The school provides many athletic opportunities as well as fine arts opportunities. Both of our children discovered passions in art and theater that they likely would not have been able to have in large public schools. Both of our children graduated from FCA and they both were well prepared for college. We are grateful that we chose FCA and we are thankful for all of the teachers there that were a blessing to our children.

Horrible experience, bad admin. Do not send your kids here!

My son has been at FCA from 3K to now going into 5th. He has had an amazing experience year after year. The teachers are loving, kind and compassionate. Communication is top notch and I have no doubt that he is loved and watched over throughout the school day. There is enough school work done during the day that the kids are not overloaded with hours and hours of homework. The curriculum is challenging enough without the kids feeling overwhelmed. The entire staff has a strong foundation in God and that shows in their exchanges with students. We are so thankful for FCA and look forward to our daughter starting there too.

Our daughter has been attending FCA for 3 years now and is starting middle school in the fall. We were very unhappy with the public school she was in because they did not challenge her and she was bored. FCA’s curriculum allowed her to be challenged and encouraged her talents in the arts. With the challenges of transitioning from elementary to middle school, we are so happy that she’s making that transition at FCA. The teachers and staff are great. She has loved every teacher she has had at FCA and they were all readily available to the parents for questions, guidance, and support. In these current times, that is such an amazing blessing.
