My daughter went to Grady for kindergarten and first grade. When she was in the after school program at Grady, hosted by the YMCA, she was touched brazenly and inappropriately touched under her clothing by another student in the program. My daughter said she yelled out when it happened, but the staff did not see it occur. It still makes me physically ill thinking about the helplessness she must have experienced in that moment. We involved the police, child services, and the boy responsible now has a juvenile record for future reference if he reoffends. However, neither the school nor the YMCA took any responsibility for the negligence. I also did not like how much homework they gave kindergarteners and felt that, outside of the opportunities to meet other families when walking your child up to the gates, the school only cares about state grade upkeep and outside appearances. She is in another school in a completely different state now and is thriving in ways she never did at Grady.

I have two wonderful kids and have been a parent in this school for the past seven years. I've had quite a journey and wanted to share some thoughts about my experiences. While I believe this school has its merits, it seems to particularly excel in serving white American students without specific spatial education needs.I've found that the teaching quality has room for improvement. There's been a bit of a challenge in fostering a sense of community and support among parents and teachers. It's important for all of us to work together to create an environment where everyone feels connected and encouraged.On a positive note, it's clear that the school's funding system is being managed efficiently, and that's something to appreciate.Let's hope that, as time goes on, the school continues to evolve and become an even more inclusive and supportive place for all students and families.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Mitchell Elementary School! From the moment we stepped through the doors, we felt the warmth, care, and commitment of the staff and teachers. The school has created such a nurturing environment where children are not only encouraged to learn, but to thrive socially and emotionally as well.The teachers go above and beyond to make learning fun and engaging, always finding creative ways to spark curiosity and support each child’s unique learning style. The leadership team is approachable, communicative, and clearly dedicated to the success of every student.Our child has grown tremendously this year—not just academically, but in confidence and kindness too. The sense of community is strong, and it’s clear that everyone here—from the front office to the classroom—genuinely cares.We feel incredibly grateful to be part of such a positive and inspiring school. On oct 8 2025..my daughter who's in 2nd grade at tampa bay...was inappropriate touched by a classmate she told her teacher Kevin caparratto and he did nothing...I called the school the next day..no one has heard about this incident..I was outraged..I finally hear what the teacher says happened and it blew my mind..the teacher Kevin caparratto said the kid touched my daughter on accident I nearly lost my mind..this teacher a white man failed my daughter not once but twice..he failed her by not helping her when she reached out for his help..then to cover up for himself he said it was a accident..so in order for this man Kevin caparratto to say it was a accident. He had to sit and witness my child being violated in his class room..I feel as no kid is safe around Kevin caparratto..this is unbelievable but we all must remember the white man history is and has always been violating women and kids..this is a huge problem ..this teacher must be removed this is a big red flag if he can't protect our kids that means he's a danger to them
