Read what parents are saying about Florida A & M University Developmental Research SchoolI have had a very positive experience at this school.
Posted by a parent on 8/11/2018The school has great potential, but is an awful environment. The teachers blame the students for the school grade, there is no organization and no structure. The administrators do not strive for excellence at all, and the education is extremely poor. Very under resourced, very small. No support for the athletic programs at all and there are power games being played throughout every day with administration. No discipline in the classroom, very little productivity throughout the day. Teachers are not willing to work with the students and there is no motivation in anyone around the school to be great at any level.
Posted by a parent on 9/14/2014This school is a really good school for discipline problems but To be honest this school needs to work on it's organization then his school will be like FSUS well organized!
Posted by a community member on 9/26/2013I happen to love FAMU DRS. The teachers, and other faculty members really take the time to teach and provide the guidance that these students need. I am a active parent who volunteers at this school weekly I am a very involved parent who is very concerned about my child's future. I chose this school because I had so many positive feedbacks on the type of enviroment, how the teachers were teaching and if they really took the time to actually teach their students. And I found that all of it were true. So please don't put down a school or even the teachers for that matter. Just take the time to help your child and your child's teacher to provide the best education possible, you have to be involved to show your child that you care about their future also.
Posted by a parent on 2/27/2011I love Florida A & M Univ Develop Res because it is a great school and have dynamic teachers. The facilities are high tech. The teachers care about the growth of the students intellect more so than just passing a test. The administration has improve tremendously in organization. The sports program is also great. Overall, it is a great school.

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI wish this school rating was better. My 1st grader has thrived at this school. I can't say enough about the staff. They are all so hard working and love their jobs. I can tell every time i go. My daughter has an excitement for reading and learning. That doesn't just happen. The environment here is conducive to learning. Dr. Smith and her faculty are good at what they do. The test scores seem low, but that more to do with the school's geographic location and the large number of underprivileged and underserved students enrolled. It should in no way be a reflection of the staff's dedication to their students.Parent Review1y ago - Pineview Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am very dissatisfied with the lack of disciplinary actions taken upon the students that are constantly bullying other students. My child is an exceptional all "A" student that has constantly been bullied for the past two yrs. I've discussed this matter with administration and instructors at this school and no discipline is being administered to the bullies! When the kids that are being bullied take the appropriate measures by informing the administration/instructors nothing is being done, therefore when the victims are backed into a corner and left to result to their own actions, they are the ones being disciplined and not the bullies. I have constantly dealt with this situation over and over again, therefore my alternative is to make a formal complaint to the local newspaper to get this matter addressed! I will not advise anyone to enroll their kids in this school. If it was not because of school-zoning my child would have never been at Bond!Parent Review8y ago - Luv-A-Lot School of Academics

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHow does a child come from this environment, as a third grader, with NO reading skills? This child needs extensive remediation, which requires so much paperwork, it detracts from the time we have to fix his problems. What guidelines govern this school? I'm an NBCT and the two siblings need intensive intervention to get them to grade level, What data and interventions are they required to provide to the parents, in this situation? Do they get a refund for leaving these children so deficit in their skills?????Teacher Review13y ago - Sakkara Youth Institute
