This school is by far one of the worst schools in the county. It should be shut down and re staffed. There are a small handful of people who actually try and do the right thing but a far greater number of people from the teachers to the front desk who are way to comfortable putting their hands on these kids . My kids dreads going to school here. We tried to get him in a magnet program and as soon as they found out. Some how he was dropped from it. They do not want the best interest for these kids .

great magnet program for art focused kids but really a niche curriculum. good teachers but would love more of a balance on academics.

I work at Melrose and my child attends Melrose. We believe the overall feel of the school is much better than our previous school. The campus is brand new so it seems that the teachers and students are enjoying the nice new accommodations. I would recommend Melrose for anyone considering placing their child in a journalism or media studies program.

This is our first year here after transferring from a charter school in Largo and both my kids absolutely love it! All of the teachers and staff are so kind. You can tell they really care about the students!

Our daughter went here and her VPK teacher was great. Her time here was wonderful and was a great starting point for her school experience. Her socialization and education was a good and solid experience. Wonderful to see teachers and assistants that enjoy teaching, it does make a difference

This is our third year at St. Raphael’s, and we honestly couldn’t be happier. We transferred in during elementary school and were immediately welcomed with open arms. The sense of community here is amazing. Families are involved because they want to be, not because they have to.Our kids are excited to go to school every day, which says everything. They know almost every student, and the staff knows them (and us!) by name. It’s clear they care about each child as a person, not just a student.The teachers have been wonderful, and academics are strong. Annual test scores are always above the diocesan average. The school has also invested in security, which is sadly necessary these days, but very reassuring.I love that it’s one school from VPK through 8th grade, so there’s no big, stressful transition in middle school. The waterfront campus is beautiful, and there are so many extras for my kids like choir, theater, clubs, sports - you name it.They also take a smart, balanced approach to technology: no phones or smartwatches during the day, teaching real-life skills like typing and Microsoft Office, and even reading The Anxious Generation as a staff.Like anything in life, you get out what you put in. As parents, we've made the choice to get involved by volunteering our time and partnering with the school to support positive growth. We do it because we truly love the community and want the best for its future.
