Idyllwilde Elementary School

Mi hijo estudió 2 años en esta maravillosa escuela, me encanto. Los profesores son lo máximo, todos son muy amables, alegres y siempre en disposición de ayudar a todos. AME este colegio!

If your child is a good student and gets good grades with no behavior issues this school is great. If your child is a typical teen with less than stellar grades and/or not perfect behavior than this school is terrible. There is a severe lack of communication between the administration and the parents. The only time you will hear from them is if your child offended them somehow. Even if you reach out to them repeatedly through calls or emails. Do not expect a response. If your child offends them somehow then you will get a call but not from anyone you need to speak with... even if you ask for them. Just pray There aren't any school shootings and that your child is 100% responsible and you'll be fine.

This is absolutely a phenomenal school that offer great opportunities to the lower income community. By far one of the best elementary schools I've ever experienced. I've had children in schools all over the country and even Germany. Non have ever even come close. I feel people are too quick to criticize schools rather than the parents. The only problems I've experienced from this school was disciplinary problems of my kid being hit on one occasion and stuff being stolen from kids in pretty much every grade. Not to mention this is my second child attending this school. The opportunities are there if parents and the children are willing to take it. The only way a kid is left behind at these schools is if the parents aren't doing their part. All the staff are easy to talk to and always willing to listen.

My daughter attended for one year. It’s okay; safe and adequate. There were some things I did not like. There were several instances that a substitute teacher told a kid to “shut up”. I reached out to Principal Windish by email 3 times and never was responded to by him. After the 3rd email, someone I cc’d had replied and said the teacher apologized to the students, but my daughter said that didn’t happen. It didn’t appear to be a big deal to them. Pros, the front desk staff is so kind. The teacher my daughter had was kind. No school projects or events or family participation for the whole year though. There was one field trip but we were told about it the morning of, no info sent home ahead of time, so she didn’t go. Overall it was adequate, no big issues. The staff that handle carline do an incredible job! It was very efficient and quick.

Excelente escuela. De verdad no tengo nada malo que decir. Tengo a mis dos hijos en ella. Mucha comunicación, limpieza; los maestros que les han tocado con muy cariñosos y atentos con los niños. Mucha dedicación y profesionalismo. La encargada del restaurante es una persona adorable. Maestras de Esol y terapistas son personas muy profesionales y adorables. A mis dos hijos le encanta! Recomiendo siempre esta escuela. A+++

I recently had the displeasure in the application process at LMP. They asked my child to come in for a shadow day. They evaluated him as someone who is not interested in learning. Is this possible from a shadow day???? Perhaps the teacher was not that interesting to listen to, or engaging? I tried to contact the school to discuss this further, still waiting for response. LMP was not a first choice school for our family. There are better choices in the Orlando area.
