Miami Shores Elementary School

Our son attended Phyllis Ruth Miller Elementary School from Kindergarten through 5th grade (2017-2024), and it has truly been an exceptional experience. The school fosters a clean, inviting, and nurturing environment where every child feels valued. The administration is highly involved, forward-thinking, and runs like a well-oiled machine, ensuring that the school's operations are always smooth and efficient. Our son's teachers were not only passionate about their work but also incredibly accessible, making it easy for us to stay engaged in his education.The sense of community at PRMES is outstanding — parents and students alike are warm, welcoming, and truly make you feel like part of the family. This is the kind of school where everyone, from the staff to the students, knows each other's names, creating a tight-knit and supportive atmosphere. The security staff, in particular, goes above and beyond, treating the children as if they were their own. I’ll never forget watching the security guards assist each 5th-grade graduate up onto the stage during the graduation ceremony, sending them off to middle school with the utmost care and pride.Phyllis Ruth Miller Elementary is a hidden gem on Miami's Upper East Side, and if you’re searching for a safe, nurturing, and community-driven school, look no further. It's a place where every child and family is supported, and it sets the standard for what a school should be.

This school is not bad but not good either, their staff can be mean,harsh and unfair to students and make the students feel uncomfortable, and the substitutes need to change their so mean and unfair if you seen them "ugh" the teachers are definitely not supportive or motivating that's why they're are not a lot of high smart kids in that school, I know school lunch is always bad but kids be starving in classes and the teachers just eat infringe of them the staff themselves don't eat the lunch so why serve it to the kids knowing you don't like it, kids should be able to eat in class especially middle school they have lunch so late so from breakfast to their lunch time you know how hungry they be, they need to do better

Some of the institutions’ teaching staff are not properly educated or equipped to meet the needs of children that are not on the spectrum but simply need professional guidance that most exproenced teachers would be able to give. They are incapable, lazy and depend on a one size fits all mold when dealing with all of the students. I wouldn’t recommend if you’re truly looking for quality all around education at this price.

Probably the best, kindest, most welcoming teachers in any school I’ve ever seen, but the students are awful and it creates a highly pressuring environment and uncomfortable environment for kids.

I have recently have a bad experience with this school because the teachers. They don't know how to deal with children challenges and milestones. I think they are not very professional and teachers not very educated. I don't recommend this school.

Wonderful school in Miami shores !This is our second year and we are pleased with the school and what it offers.Our daughter loves it.Great academic experience and core classes taught in a small group environment.The teachers seem to be very happy and genuinely care about the kids.The parent/home and school association has many activities throughout the year to keep kids excited and parents involved. We truly like the small community feel this church/school offers.
