Read what parents are saying about Miami Beach Senior High SchoolI just graduated from this school two days ago and I have to say it’s absolutely horrendous. This school does a really great job of clipping students wings and not allowing them to express themselves. The administration is too caught up in how much funding they get then paying attention to a student’s mental health, it’s honestly disappointing. The one highlight of this school is the amazing teachers, but other than that the place is a dump. Disgusting bathrooms, deteriorated interior, and just overall terrible people running it. The one thing that pushed me over the edge was the activities director. The day of graduation I arrived with a custom stole made by my sister with various clubs and my college I was going to. I walked in and the activities director snatched it off my shoulders and said “this comes with me”. When I asked for it back to just give to my parents she said no. I got no explanation as to why it was snatched and it baffles me because no where in the handbook was it stated a student can’t wear a stole. I arrived two days later where I was told it would be along with my diploma and instead I was told “it’s at my house”. Why is my stole in your house? And more importantly why is the inconvenience to me when you’re the person who didn’t put it in the handbook? It’s honestly just so frustrating because these people treat you like children even after you are an adult and graduated from their school. I would recommend any other school but this place, again it is a horrible place to send a student that wants to be expressive or even just themselves. I will not miss it.
Posted by a community member on 9/24/2023I currently go there and the sucks that being said, we are going through a reformative period where administration is changing to better control the incoming classes. However, in my past four years, it’s been nothing but skipping, smoking and kids getting suspended. The scholars and ib have a whole different high school experience than the general population which seems unfair because of the teachers and administrative support they receive while the rest of us fend for ourselves….

Posted by a community member on 1/13/2022My daughter is in the scholars program at this school. She's been attending online school because of Covid. I hear her teachers teaching and they are FANTASTIC! My son was also just accepted into the school and Mrs. Guido the registrar was very helpful and took the time to explain and help me with everything I needed. I'm so glad I had this school as an option for both of my kids.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was so worried, when my kid went to the school. But there was nothing to worry about, teachers are great in kindergarten, first grade 2nd grade. Management and principal are really helpful. School tries to help canned and family as much as possible. For example, this year they were giving away free bikes for each kid. They have special online programs for parents, so parents with different language will be able to help their kid with education process. Main thing for me that kid loves going to the school. It’s not too little or not too much homework. Also school has after school programs and summer school camps. And Security is good. Nobody, other than students allowed to be in school. You can enter school just through security, showing your ID, and only with schedule appointment. That makes me feel safe for my kid. My special thank you for second grade teacher, Mr. Riera. He is amazing and kids love him awesome my kid has really good understanding of the program and showing good results.Parent Review10mo ago - North Beach Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has attended North Beach for 6 years and I can say that this is an EXCELLENT school! The teachers are committed to their students development and students are regularly recognized for their accomplishments building their sense of confidence and joy of learning. Projects and assignments are developed to help stretch children's thinking. Many comments on this site about this being a public school run like a private school. I would agree and am very thankful for that! The workload on students is high with homework almost every night, but the kids get used to the workload and it prepares them for everything that comes next. If you're a parent that doesn't believe homework is important, then this is NOT the school for you. Also, many comments disparaging the "rich yoga moms". To be clear, these moms donate their time and resources to make NBE a terrific elementary school for all. Specifically, they play an active role in helping to organize classroom events, they help fund incremental teachers for those that need more support and they volunteer to support the school whenever needed. Overall, an outstanding school in a terrific community filled with caring families.Parent Review2mo ago - Casa dei Bambini Montessori School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would not reccomend sending your children here at all. I sent my son to the high school this year, and out of all the Jewish schools, we have tried this id definitively at the bottom of the list. Both the Judaics and the traditional course are not sufficient with the teaching they provide. Along with the poor teaching, the workload given to students is extreme especially this year with an ongoing pandemic.Parent Review2y ago - Landow Yeshiva Center

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAbsolutely not worth the price. The academics are at a lower level than public schools, which I remarked after I retracted my children from this school. The counselors are not concerned by the students' problems, the teachers keep switching, or even get expelled. The teachers are not paid enough, as they claim, and each year at LEAST 5 of them leave. Parents are literally spammed with e-mails that have nothing to do with their children's life. The high school is in a bad condition, and students destroy the wall when they kick it, as the latter are made of paper. There is NO discipline. Judaic teachings have nothing special, and overall, this schools lacks a well structured academic system. The students' future are compromised, be careful with your decision!Parent Review9y ago - Devos Academy of Music and Arts

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI just wanted to thank you for helping me start painting again. The four classes that I took at Devos Academy were very helpful in terms of learning new painting techniques as well as discovering my personal artistic style. My instructor was very knowledgeable and creative and put lots of effort in teaching her students not only the aspects of painting with different types of paints, but also to appreciate and admire art. The school has a convenient location, the classroom is well organized with a pleasant atmosphere filled with sounds of classical music which helps you relax and concentrate. I enjoyed every minute of my class. Keep up the great work!Other Review10y ago - Casa Dei Bambini Montessori School
