JSR is a treasure!! I have two kids at JSR and since we started here it’s been amazing!My daughter started in 3rd grade and my son was fortunate enough to be here from the very beginning. The staff, the faculty and administration are all wonderful, very caring and attentive. We’ve been blessed with great teachers, who have pushed and guided my kids towards excellence. Grateful to be part of the Jaguar Family.

Como padre de un estudiante en esta escuela, tengo muchas razones para elogiarla.En primer lugar, la seguridad en la Escuela Secundaria G. Holmes Braddock es una de las principales preocupaciones de los padres, y estoy feliz de decir que esta escuela se toma muy en serio la seguridad de los estudiantes. Holmes Braddock se esfuerza por brindar a los estudiantes todas las herramientas necesarias para tener éxito en su futuro académico.También quiero destacar que muchos de los profesores y miembros de la administración tienen sus propios hijos matriculados en la escuela. Esto dice mucho sobre la confianza que tienen en la calidad de la educación que se ofrece aquí. Saber que los educadores confían en la escuela lo suficiente como para inscribir a sus propios hijos es muy tranquilizador.En resumen, la Escuela Secundaria G. As a parent of a kindergarten student, I have major concerns about the amount of homework being assigned at this school. My 5 year old is receiving approximately 13 pages of homework each week, along with daily reading, 90 minutes of I-ready requirements, spelling word review for weekly tests, and sight word testing. This level of works is overwhelming for such a young child and has created unnecessary stress for both him and our family. This is my third child in public school, and I have never encountered this volume of academic pressure in kindergarten. At this age, children are just beginning their educational journey, and developmentally they need time to play, explore, and simply be kids. Unfortunately, my child comes home with so much work that has little to no time left to relax or enjoy being a child. I also question whether assigning this much work at such an early age actually guarantees greater academic success in the future. Research consistently shows that excessive homework in early childhood does not lead to better long-term outcomes and can instead constructive to stress, frustration and burnout. Due to these ongoing concerns, I am seriously considering transferring my child to another school next year. I truly hope the administration will take parent feedback into account and adopt a more balanced, developmentally appropriate approach that supports both leaning and childhood well-being.

The school for middle school is good but when it comes to the High school the school is ok . There’s other magnet schools that are better for HS. Another thing when it comes to who gets it and who doesn’t get in, depend on a lottery but other times also depend on who knows who from that school and you get in easily with out having to worry about anything even if you audition for a particular program or not . I feel most schools have their good and bad teachers . No school is perfect but I can say some school do prepare student better than others and have teachers even if the percentage of their teacher that care is low that want to make sure the kids grow not fail . Lastly for those parents that so don’t know any one to get you easily in the school that is so hard to get in case you don’t get picked in the lottery , don’t loose hope if that’s the school you want for your child but try to apply to other magnet schools that will work out at the end . Overall is an ok school for Hs . Best of luck !
