Tiny Steps Preschool III

JSR is a treasure!! I have two kids at JSR and since we started here it’s been amazing!My daughter started in 3rd grade and my son was fortunate enough to be here from the very beginning. The staff, the faculty and administration are all wonderful, very caring and attentive. We’ve been blessed with great teachers, who have pushed and guided my kids towards excellence. Grateful to be part of the Jaguar Family.

This school sucks. This new principal has made everything suck. I miss the the old principal

As a parent of a kindergarten student, I have major concerns about the amount of homework being assigned at this school. My 5 year old is receiving approximately 13 pages of homework each week, along with daily reading, 90 minutes of I-ready requirements, spelling word review for weekly tests, and sight word testing. This level of works is overwhelming for such a young child and has created unnecessary stress for both him and our family. This is my third child in public school, and I have never encountered this volume of academic pressure in kindergarten. At this age, children are just beginning their educational journey, and developmentally they need time to play, explore, and simply be kids. Unfortunately, my child comes home with so much work that has little to no time left to relax or enjoy being a child. I also question whether assigning this much work at such an early age actually guarantees greater academic success in the future. Research consistently shows that excessive homework in early childhood does not lead to better long-term outcomes and can instead constructive to stress, frustration and burnout. Due to these ongoing concerns, I am seriously considering transferring my child to another school next year. I truly hope the administration will take parent feedback into account and adopt a more balanced, developmentally appropriate approach that supports both leaning and childhood well-being.

This school offers the perfect situation for a special needs parent and a neurodivergent parent. Juggling a schedule that fits therapies, school and extra curriculum activities is a breeze here. The owner and staff are constantly providing educational updates and are very involved in the progress of both of my children. These teachers, the Director and Owner offer a safe place where growth and education is the main concern.
