Flagami Elementary School

My daughter has attended this school and has accomplished a lot, all the teachers are great, Mrs Fleitas is such a great teacher and motivator. She made my daughter a gifted student and push my daughter to be the best. Thanks to her and other teachers, Mrs.Simmons also is a great teacher and motivator. What can I say these teachers are our great heroes teaching our students to be the best. Great school, which I also attended as a parent now.

So the experience so far has been adequate for what you pay for which is saying something as this is a public school, so I only pay for the afterschool program. My only concern is that my son was diagnosed with ADHD and trying to get his IEP has been an absolute nightmare. For 1 year the school did not have a guidance counselor and we had started the process back at the end of 2024-2025 school year. We have just completed 2025-2026 and I'm still waiting for someone on his case to contact me to actually set up his IEP. This part is out of the school's hands but they also didn't deliver communication or the right support at the time. The communication between school and parent is not good. It not the worst but also not great. I don't know how else to describe it. Obviously, it's a government entity that is overworked and underpaid (that we know as a fact). However, the charter schools in Miami area get the part of that funding and now deliver private school results. The problem is that we need to also fund the public schools and though the teachers and principle are doing all the can, they are also at the mercy of the current administration, and budget and the results are that this school was an "A" when he started and has since dropped to a "B". And it shows....My son however likes his school and so I'm at a lost of what to do moving forward.

Es una escuela maravillosa de manera general, pero si tengo que resaltar algo sería los excelentes maestros!!! Con el amor tan grande que cuidan a cada niño y atienden sus necesidades individuales. Se preocupan no solo por el alumno sino por su familia, son increíbles en verdad y todos los niños son muy felices allí. Estoy muy agradecida por la labor tan bonita que han hecho con mi hijo.
