ACE Academy Central

Excellent school and overall one of the best in the county

Sunset Park Elementary is a true gem in East Kendall, an A-rated public school nestled in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows your name and your child’s name, creating an incredible sense of belonging and community. The teachers are dedicated, caring, and deeply invested in their students’ academic and emotional growth. The gifted program is especially strong, offering enriching and challenging instruction that encourages critical thinking while supporting each child’s unique strengths. We feel so happy to belong to this community and truly thankful that we found Sunset Park. With its high academic standards, supportive environment, and strong sense of connection, it’s an all-around wonderful school where children thrive and families feel at home.

The WORST school. Do NOT enroll your children here.My experience as a mother was absolutely terrible. My child experienced bullying, and I specifically want to mention the teacher DONOVAN. Based on what we experienced and witnessed, I believe Donovan bullied and psychologically mistreated my child and other children.I also had a terrible experience with tutoring. I felt pressured to pay for tutoring, and I reached a point where it felt like my child could be treated worse if I did not agree to it. To me, this was completely unacceptable. The children eat outside under the South Florida sun and heat, without an adequate protected area. The school does not even have a decent cafeteria. It is unbelievable that a school cannot provide a basic, appropriate place for children to eat without sitting in the heat.ANDRADE at the front desk was extremely rude and unprofessional toward me. And the principal, COCCIO, NEVER responds to emails. You can write, explain your concerns, and ask for help, and you simply get ignored. As a mother, it makes you feel like your concerns and your child simply do not matter. The good teachers constantly leave. There is an incredible amount of staff turnover, and there are always new teachers. From my experience, it seems like the good teachers never stay. The worst part for me was seeing how my child was emotionally affected. A school should be a place where children feel safe, respected, and protected not a place where they have to suffer because of the behavior of an adult.I am a mother who suffered tremendously during the time my child attended this school. After everything we experienced, my recommendation is very clear: DO YOUR RESEARCH before enrolling your children here.I would NEVER enroll my child here again.
