Read what parents are saying about Academie De MontessoriWhen compared to many other schools with the excessive testing, HW and underappreciated and overworked teachers, this place is a god sent. Since Montessori is self-paced, we like that our older child can excel in any area she wishes to and then pace herself with others she's still working on. The teachers are everything here, as they should be. The Children's House teachers for the 2-3 year olds, Viviana and Donna, are so loving and compassionate. My 3 year old loves being hugged and nurtured by them and is becoming such a funny, loving and smart kid. She beams with laughter and smiles when I pick her up. She loves to sing songs from class and the teaching methods they use are clearly working as she's very good at puzzles, expressing herself, taking care of her body and potty training was amazing here! Then there are two 3-6 year old classes. We had Mindy and this woman is like the dog whisperer for kids. She just gets them. Her methods are top notch and the way she brings her personal passions like speaking and singing in Spanish, knitting and having the kids do QUALITY projects and work is just so refreshing. Not to mention, all the kids adore her. She is warm and nurturing, but fair and firm. Our conference meetings were always filled with laughter, tears and true respect for the roles we all play in that kid's life. Since there is not a middle school, many parents will face the challenge of, "what's next" and I see most leave after kindergarten to complete the 3-6 year cycle. The 1-6th grade levels are much smaller with only a handful of kids per grade, if that. But again, good quality teaching, learning, a loving environment and ongoing bi-monthly farm trips where the kids have to work and learn about growing food. I get this may not be for all parents, but even if you can only afford until Kindergarten, I would highly recommend!

Posted by a parent on 5/25/2012This is an absolutely beautiful school. The teachers are nurturing and encourage exploration. They have the most charming and wonderful activities including French Luncheon where the students prepare a French meal, design the menus and act as servers, in French, of course! I give it the highest recommendation!

My daughter attended kindergarten at this school 2 years ago and she fractured her arm in 2 places at recess and no one contacted me. They sent her to the nurse then sent her back to class with an ice pack. After that I switched her schoolParent Review1y ago - Spring Park Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSpring Park Elementary School is Duval County's only elementary IB Magnet school. It is a neat school with a lot of diversity among the faculty, staff and students, which provide everyone with endless educational opportunities and experiences. The school delivers instruction that is inquiry-based and aligned with a transdisciplinary theme that allows students to delve deeper into the curriculum or content and explore concepts from multiple perspectives. The faculty and staff strive to cultivate internationally-minded students who will go on to change our world for the better. The approaches Spring Park takes to educating students ensures that regardless of their capacity in the world, students will invoke change to make our world a better place.Other Review10mo ago - John E. N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRPDS has a wonderful reputation and there are very good reasons to send your child to school there. It is well maintained, warm, and the curriculum is well designed (but not particularly well executed so it seems to be somewhat hit or miss in how many kids get to fully access the curriculum). The parents are highly involved, which is typically the hallmark of a “good” school. They have the structure to give a wide swath of children the kind of support they need to thrive, but the availability of that support is only available if parents “play ball”. It seems parent participation is largely a way to achieve and parse influence. We were disappointed that their self-lauded DEI was for the brochure only. Seems a lot of their advertised programs and tactics are “brochure only”. The staff and administration seem staunchly stuck in the 90’s when it comes to educational and social-emotional learning theories and it’s, frankly, cringy to watch.Parent Review1y ago - Assumption Catholic School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDisappointing, a great school, beautiful facilities, but I kept my daughter in pk3 and Vpk denied me a place for K because my student speaks Spanish. She is only 4 years old, she makes a great effort and she is already communicating in English quite fluently. The director told me that she will enroll her in a public school for ESOL. It seemed like a sign of respect to me, since if I have her in a private school, it would be because I can pay it. They also say they are Catholic and have students with palero and santero parents.Other Review3mo ago - Saint Paul Catholic School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe size of this school is one of the reasons we chose it. Although there are some good teachers who genuinely care about their students, the academics seriously lack. My child was not prepared for Bishop Kenny. If you are not Catholic your child is much better off at any of the public schools in the neighborhood. I subbed at several and the curriculum was much more challenging. If you want a Catholic education, I would strongly consider Assumption over St. Paul’s.Parent Review1mo ago - Victoria's Higher Learning Academy
