Read what parents are saying about Kimball Wiles Elementary SchoolThe principal is a micromanager who makes the teachers miserable, which shows in the lack of smiles and warmth at this school. All she cares about are the state test scores, not the well-being of the students. She runs the place like a penitentiary, and it's just as cheerful.
Posted by a community member on 4/24/2017We have been at Wiles since March of Kindergarten year and are starting the 5th grade year. We have had GREAT teachers; however, the Principal is horrible. The teachers, PTA and staff are afraid of her and to say anything even if they know the students best interest is at stake. She cares about the numbers and they will move students around to satisfy this regardless. We have experience of them moving our son into a class without communicating to us and appearing they knew best in 3rd grade. The extra class was not needed! It was the WORST year and affected his self-confidence the whole year and other subjects. We knew at that point the Principal does NOT know what is best and this would NOT happen again. We will be starting the 5th week of school and just now will be getting a designated teacher...poor planning. We just want to get this year done! I have heard much better things about our sister school and they have more gifted classes offered. Wish I had known that in 2009!
Posted by a parent on 9/13/2013I think Kimball Wiles is a great school . If you are a parent looking for a great school, got to wiles . I have read some negative comments on this website from wiles. Don't believe what they say . Most likely , the had a bad expieriance with a teacher , or wants to get back at someone . Please remember it you are good you life at Kimball Wiles Elementary will be good .
Posted by a community member on 7/8/2013Both my children currently attend Wiles Elementary. I am very pleased with the effort the teachers make to help children do their best each day. I noticed some negative comments about Wiles spending too much time getting ready for the FCAT. This has nothing to do with the teachers or the principal. This occurs in ALL the public elementary schools in our state. Please blame our state government for the FCAT, and for grading the schools. I know a lot of teachers...and have yet to meet one who likes the FCAT.
Posted by a parent on 4/18/2013I was a student at wiles from kindergarden to 5th grade, and after 6 years, looking back I recall the teachers to be horrid and they dont give a bloody squat about the students. All this school cares about is FCAT. It prepared me for FCAT, but not for my middle school years. If you would like to be prepared for FCAT but not for life, than go to this school. It would be 5 stars for you. I regret deeply not transffering to another school when I had the chance. All of my friends at wiles mostly aggreed that wiles was a distasteful school.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a former alumnus of The Rock School, I am writing this review. I went here for about two years and I have to say, I learned quite a lot from most of my classes and teachers. Most of my teachers were very passionate about their job and cared a lot about the student's opinions and voices. But, in my 8th-grade year I was very angered and frustrated to have not one- but three different math teachers in one school year, one of them barely teaching us. While most of the students were kind, some students were unwelcoming and rude. I felt very alone and uncomfortable at this school and that I was being judged by everyone around me. As I Christian school, I expected more out of the students. I do love the unique teaching style each teacher has and the way they find a way to include God, but sometimes it felt like the way the teachers would word it or teach felt as if it was hard to follow God and that he would never accept me and I was never a good Christian because of all these rules and expectations. The 8th graders were also supposed to go on their final middle school field trip this year, but it never happened because they “forgot” to book the museum and the charter busses were too expensive, also because of the lack of students that didn't want to go. It saddened me that elementary school students go to go somewhere fun like Skate Station but the school still couldn't fit time for the middle schoolers to go on a field trip. Overall, I wasn't too pleased with this school and it is DEFINITELY not worth the $10,000 per child.Other Review11mo ago - Queen of Peace Catholic Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe finished our first year at QPCA in June and had a wonderful experience! After moving from another state and the only place my children knew as home, I was nervous and worried wondering how well they would adjust to a new school as well. Thankfully they had a great first year, adjusted quickly and were welcomed with open arms right from the start! The teachers, staff and students made them feel a part of the QPCA family instantly! In addition to this, I also feel my children’s learning experience was amazing and education was exceptional which is is SO very important!!! I too enjoyed my time this year volunteering both on campus and in classroom all throughout the year! Can’t wait for another amazing year at QPCA!!!Parent Review10mo ago - Gainesville Country Day School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLearning was great and the teachers were nice but have absolutely no support from their administration in dealing with students that have special needs. Our child was portrayed as a Tazmanian Devil that wreaked havoc. We felt that he definitely had a target on his back (not by his peers but by the staff and administration!) and sure enough, at his new school with an engaged administration, his teacher describes him as a pleasure to have in class. Mind blowing and infuriating all at the same time! Save your money and send your kid somewhere else.Parent Review11mo ago - Oak Hall Lower School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt is a very welcoming and friendly environment for my kid who does not know English yet. The teacher and staff are so responsive and make it possible for families to get involved. So far, my kid loves it.Parent Review11mo ago - The Academy
