Posted by a parent on 5/7/2010I have been a Tuttle parent for 7 years, graduating one child from Tuttle with 3 children still attending. I have never seen such a well-rounded faculty and staff as Tuttle has to offer, and I compare it to the school systems in Trumbull and Milford, CT. The hands-on participation with students, parents and faculty that Anita Ruff exhibits as The Chief Administrator should be commended. She is a strict, knowledgable disciplinarian with caring and compassion for all who enter Tuttle's doors. The teaching staff is phenomenal, and other staff members including maintenance, office and cafeteria are truly commendable as well. I highly reccomend this school, and will surely be sad when all 4 of my children have seen thier final days at Tuttle.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe staff at Fair Haven School truly care about their students. I've noticed many of the reviews on this page are outdated. Since the posts from years ago, Fair Haven School has gained new administration and new teachers who have come in and really changed the climate of the building. Many students who come to this school are far below grade level. Teachers work hard to make sure that the growth being made by each of their students in more than a year's worth (in an attempt to get them closer to their grade level benchmarks). Teachers have put together committees and use strategies to better connect with parents and people in the community. There will always be some outliers of students who have a difficult time during the school day, but overall students are respectful and teachers work hard to connect with them. There is only so much that you can learn about a building from the statistics and test score data. It is important to look at the make up of a building in order to truly understand how much effort and love a staff is putting into their job.Other Review4y ago - Nathan Hale School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have worked here as a substitute since September. It is a wonderfully supportive environment to work and learn. The students LOVE school. After spending a majority of their day there, upon their parents arrival they still ask to stay a bit longer. In response to the comment that warned of the dangerous neighborhood, I have never felt unsafe going to school. The location of Cold Spring is a lesson in embracing our surrounding culture rather than fearing it.Teacher Review7y ago - St Francis & St Rose Of Lima School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAt first, we were very happy with this school. However, after several incidents involving basic safety and communication,, we realized the school puts a higher priority on maintaining students at any cost ($),. There is a culture of secrecy and evasiveness. Once we left, we also learned our child who we were told was top of the class was below reading level at her new school. The biggest mistake I've made as a parent is trusting this school.Parent Review8y ago
