Read what parents are saying about John E. Flynn A Marzano AcademyThis is an excellent school. As a new parent, I have had the best experience so far with teachers and the front office. So welcoming!

Posted by a community member on 4/27/2023This school has made leaps and bounds in improvement over the last 3 years since becoming a Marzano Academy. My daughter attended kindergarten here during the pandemic and the district and school were fantastic - balancing safety with keeping the school open. The kids all got Chromebooks and they held virtual classes for about 4 months. The principal Dr. Kosena is very responsive - keeps communication open and sends regular newsletters and updates. It's a smaller school - 2 kindergarten classes. We had Ms. Barber and she was amazing!! She went above and beyond to engage our little girl. She had music class, art class and gym every week. They have a huge field with an incredible view of the mountains, two playgrounds. I unfortunately didn't get to spend much time inside the school due to COVID but it's all recently updated with new carpet and furniture in the classrooms. The focus of the school is on building community. I felt they stayed true to their mission in challenging times.
Posted by a parent on 6/24/2021To all the family and friends at Flynn Elementary Mr. Waldau (teaching 1st grade) is a recent addition of the Flynn family, and I am so glad my daughter has the opportunity to be in his class. I feel confident that she is getting the finest education by the best educators in the area. My daughter is still enjoying school, and is continuing to grow and learn with Mr. Waldau s strong learning techniques. I am particularly amazed by the structure of his classroom, and the atmosphere he cultivates. Thank you, Flynn, for introducing us to this wonderful teacher.
Posted by a parent on 9/11/2013Principal never returns calls and I still can't find a teacher who understands the new "standard based" education. How can they teach our kids if they don't get it? It is starting to be a rough school and no one seems to care including the staff!!!

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageA lot of bullying goes on at this school, especially to the Caucasian students. Some teachers are also bullies. The middle school at teacher bullied my child. The principal is inapproachable. The atmosphere is horrible. There is no fun at this school. Art class is considered work. There were some excellent teachers and some horrible teachers..mainly the art teacher. This is not a safe place for Caucasian students.Parent Review4mo ago - Fairview Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe sped department has been combative and unsupportive, it is almost impossible to get your student tested. Students are mentally and emotionally traumatized by the staff. Parents are purposely silenced and complaints are literally refused. The school and the district need new administrators that actually care about the children and educating the children and teachers that actually teach instead of complain about their salary to the students during class. Even the receptionist at the front desk claims that she doesn't make enough money to check the main voice-mail box or return calls.Parent Review2y ago - Mesa Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis year has been terrible for my child. After the pandemic my child needed lots of support and this district ended up getting rid of many teachers midyear due to a vaccine mandate no other district required. My child had three different teachers this year because of this negligence. My child did not receive help in reading and had a teacher with little to no experience in the classroom. Poor choices made at the administrative level has left my child more behind than ever.Parent Review2y ago - Belleview Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe last review on this school is absolutely bogus. The previous administration was dismissed for reasons we have deemed appropriate. We've been attending this school since Kindergarten and have had no issues. Especially now with the change in leadership, the teachers are more engaging and the quality of the lessons has improved. I'm not sure where the previous reviews are coming from but you can rest assured that this is a quality Christian School. Please go by and speak with the staff and see for yourselves. This really is a great place to send your kids.Parent Review1y ago
