My son is getting bullied at this school. He is 7 years old and kids are pushing and pulling him around. This is unacceptable, especially since I’ve talked with the teachers AND principal. I would not recommend this school.

We just moved from TX to this school district and I am amazed by how amazing this school is. The teacher Mrs. Armstrong noticed the second day that my child was struggling and called us asking to get her more services and help. We had been fighting with TX school districts to get her help.Ms. Fugita who my son has right now has him excited to go to school. They challenge him.My other daughter is in the fifth grade and had some drama with two girls, but the principal who monitors the school cameras noticed this and pulled them all into his office to discuss the issue and now they are all best friends. Mr. Lindsey is amazing

Hi! I’m an alumni from this school. My personal recommendation? Don’t send your children here.From kindergarten to fifth grade I attended Governor’s Ranch Elementary, and I am genuinely traumatized from those years. From the age of 6 until I was around 10(?) I believe? I felt alienated and abandoned by both the peers, and the teachers who were supposed to protect and support me. The teachers, in my experience, were awful to children with disabilities if those disabilities happened to fly under the radar, and many of them talked down to me and other students in their class for not understanding concepts. My social skills never developed because nobody would talk to me. The teachers are cliquey, so because my mom said one wrong thing, none of the teachers children talked to me. And none of them really liked me either. Nobody stepped in, and I will never recover from the lasting trauma this school left me. If I do, it will take many years of my life. I developed severe depression before I even knew what that word meant.Do not send your kids here.

I have two children who attend Mount Carbon. One is a 5th grader and the other second grade. The sense of community is very strong here. The teachers are wonderful and care deeply about the children’s progress. Bullying isn’t tolerated and my children feel very safe. The principal isn’t afraid to let people know when they have crossed a line. Because of this the school has much better behavior than other schools in the area. I’m so grateful we live so close to a school with high expectations and such a caring staff. There are constant extra curricular activities and also so many fun events the PTA puts on.

My daughter currently has Mrs. Laura and every time I am in classroom, I am blown away by the way she handles her classroom. The students respect for her and each other is evident, I don't think this is the vibe outside of MPA. I love the staff, front office and the Library and everyone! My daughter has told me that she wants her kids to go to Montessori and to attend in High School. It comes up at least once every few weeks. It's amazing and I am thankful for this community.
