Posted by a parent on 4/12/2018This small school has a great spirit and really cares about students. Kids actually learn at this school!
Posted by a community member on 2/14/2017The teachers at this school are awesome!! Great neighborhood school. Love the size of the classes, rooms are not overflowing with children.
Posted by a parent on 7/18/2015Colorow works hard to maintain its small community feel. Families are welcomed in their entirety. A new community lounge even gives parents a place to relax and connect with one another!
Posted by a parent on 7/18/2015Colorow has been an awesome school for my daughter and neice. The teachers are amazing and have gone out of their way over and over to ensure the kids understand everything and are getting the absolute best learing experience possible. We couldn't ask for any more in a school.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school does nothing about bullying. The teachers barely try to educate the students. When a student has bad handwriting the teacher does nothing about it but complain and give them bad scores instead of trying to understand. The sanitization is absolutely terrible. My kids bring home a new sickness constantly… I am stuck sitting here why we provide cleaning supplies and tissues. When it’s snowing outside and you want to drop your kid off even a few minutes early.. Forget about it! They won’t let your kid inside until it’s breakfast time so my kids just sit outside and freeze. The teachers will pass the kids and go inside and just ignore them. However the teachers with kids will let their kids in, which isn’t fair at all!Parent Review1mo ago - Leawood Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAfter exploring several public and private school options, my family selected our neighborhood public school, Leawood Elementary. My daughter is finishing her second year (full-day preschool then kindergarten), and my family loves it. We have been especially impressed with the focus on kindness and the community feeling. Staff members seem to know every child’s name and greet them each morning in the crosswalk and at the front door. All of my daughter’s teachers have been kind, creative, knowledgeable and dynamic with great classroom control. Leawood offers several programs during and after school to cater to kids’ particular interests, from running and cheerleading, choir and band, art club, drama class, bike club, and even caring for a campus vegetable and fairy garden! PTSA is very active and hosts evening activities like Canvas and Cocoa and Family Science Night. There was even a bike-to-school celebration, a family holiday singalong and an all-school performance honoring local service members on Veteran’s Day. My daughter enjoys going to school and has many friends there, and I have heard that Leawood Elementary is a sought-after assignment for JeffCo teachers as well. Before my daughter started kindergarten, I attended an open house at an exclusive (and expensive) private school. This school’s offerings were outstanding, and I was very impressed, but in the end, my family decided we valued the education and community that is open to all at Leawood. It has been a terrific place for my daughter to start her education.ONE ADDITIONAL NOTE: When making school decisions, it’s worth considering the current school-day start and end times. Jefferson County School District amended these times for elementary school, middle school and high school last year. Elementaries currently start at 7:35am and end at 2:35pm. I understand some families like this, but it has not been a good switch for my family.Parent Review4w ago - Normandy Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe did not have a great experience at Coronado. Principal was not communicative. Staff was ok, but could do better at being open to parent communication.Parent Review8mo ago - Ute Meadows Elementary School
