Read what parents are saying about Bradford Primary SchoolWe moved to CO from CA and we are so glad that our kids are at Bradford! The principal, teachers, administration, the PTA and parents/volunteers are great. It's also nice that you can go to recess and have lunch with your kids whenever you want to.
Posted by a parent on 5/19/2015All 3 of my boys attended this school before we moved out of state. You can't get much better than Bradford. We transferred from a Lakewood area school mid year. The principal and teachers went out of their way to make the kids feel welcome. Top notch teachers, top notch principal, top notch PTA.
Posted by a parent on 3/8/2015This review is for the 1st grade teachers. 1) They are non-communicative. We have no idea what is going on week-to-week. 2) I have to go out and probe them for status of my child's education. How bout at a minimum a weekly or bi-weekly email ?!? 3) The grade-specific web site has the ability for the teachers to be more communicative, but they do not use it. 4) Don't let yourself be fooled by the standardized testing results. Families with much more disposable income, hire tutors to educate their children. 5) We just gave Jeffco ton's of extra money for 'education' in 2014. I highly doubt the 'students' will ever see any benefit. 6) They need to trim class size by ~5 students. 7) Our family will probably have to bite-the-bullet and send my son to private school.
Posted by a parent on 2/1/2015My son went to half day kindergarten and is now in first grade. I researched schools in the area in great depths, and thankfully decided on Bradford. I was set on sending my son to a charter school, private school or Dennison, but when we didn't make the lottery, I started looking into the public schools in the area. I am so happy that we decided on Bradford. It is in a beautiful location and I can't see how the quality of education could be any better at a private or charter school. My son is a smart little dude, and I feel like they pay close attention to grouping and challenging all the kids no matter what level they test into. At the end of Kindergarten, a majority of his class was reading at a 1st grade to end of first grade level. Very impressive. Bradford actually ranks higher than Dennison these days. We have had a great experience so far. The teachers have been more than awesome and the principle, Mr. Lewis, is fantastic. Parents are completely involved and most everyone I have met has been extremely friendly. We feel very lucky to be able to go to this school.
Posted by a parent on 10/29/2012I had 2 children attend this school for 1st and 2nd grade. I was very happy with the education, the teachers went the extra mile to make sure each student was challenged to the max of their abilities. We had one incident where child was bullied by an older kid that was visiting from a different campus. The pricipal, Mr. Lewis, responded immediately and demonstrated that the school has "no tolerance" for bully behavior. He took the incident very seriously, and I was very happy with the way he handled everything. All in all, I was very pleased with this school. Only area that could use improvement is security. Once school is out, the kids either line up in appropriate bus line, or are free to just walk off campus, or get into any car they like. (There is no matching of kids with the appropriate car/parent).

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMortensen has such a wonderful staff, both administrative and teaching. We absolutely love our school. My daughter's teachers have been top notch; so caring, knowledgeable, and fair. They are constantly seeking out how to better support their students and further their own education in order to better serve the kids. There are events throughout the year to bring the school community together, and we have gotten to know many other families. They have a diverse set of activities available for after school programs as well as field trips to broaden students' educational opportunities. We appreciate the autism program in our school and love to support their amazing theater program, which we look forward to being involved in once my daughter is old enough to do so! I highly recommend this elementary school!Parent Review1y ago - Shaffer Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school overall. As is likely in any school, there are a few bad apple teachers that you have to be cautious of. As other has mentioned, PTA is definitely cliquey so it is harder as a parent to fit in when you’re not part of the “in crowd.”Parent Review2mo ago - Ute Meadows Elementary School
