Read what parents are saying about Maplewood Elementary SchoolMy daughters teacher ms Thomas is fantastic! She is patient and silly, firm and in control, and definetly connects to my child. There was an incidident where my child went out of the gate [off grounds] one morning before school which was the schools fault. teacher is great but the school needs to increase security. We were not happy with the incident.
Posted by a community member on 2/15/2016My School is Maplewood, my son and I moved back to Greeley just to go to this school again. My son does so well with the programs offered and love the teachers and all. I have actually been looking specifically in the school district area when we moved back so he could attend such a student success based school! I don't want him going anywhere else!!!!
Posted by a parent on 3/18/2014Find another school such as a charter school.. Because this school is a poor performer an alternative school has to be offered with transportation free of charge. My children attended this school for 2 1/ 2 years. They were constantly bullied to the point of physical assault and public humilation. I was constantly in touch with the Vice Principle who did not do anything about it until the principle got wind of the problem. That being said he called me a bad mother in front of my child because of chroniic absenteeism before even asking why they were absent as much as they were. The "Nurse" never seemed to ever read a temperature on my children when once I took my daughters right before walking into school at it was 102.3, the health aid got 98.7 and deemed my child healthy enough to be at school. I am a REAL nurse and can decide if my child should be there or not. My children were absent a lot out of fear of attending that school and crying uncontrollably at the thought of having to be there for the day. They do have a few awesome teachers trying to teach within the parameters given. Avoid this school if you can. We moved out of state and are very happy now.
Posted by a community member on 11/4/2013This is an awful school. The principal is only interested in test scores and being addressed as "Dr." My daughter has attended Maplewood for two years. Thankfully, we are moving to another district. My daughter, who used to love books, has decided that reading is punishment, thanks to the school's soul-crushing "Ashlock" literacy program. Maplewood wants robotic children. I gave it 2 stars because some of the teachers are secretly trying to actually teach despite being ordered to follow scripted reading and math programs. Don't expect any support of the arts at Maplewood. Don't expect special time in the classroom, like Christmas parties. In fact, don't expect children to be treated like children. The principal sees them as data points on test results.

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school has become a joke! I have had several of my kids go through Scott and over the years I have seen the lack of care of student well-being go down the drain. I saw my youngest child get bullied several times, and when I asked if the teacher did anything, they would but had no support from the top people running the school! The teachers look tired and stressed and unhappy, yet I see they do what they can for my kids. I am disgusted with how the principal has run things, from what I understand and even saw the bullies are not punished and it makes the kids not doing anything wrong feel miserable. Its disappointing that the school that used to care about the community has let down the families so much!Parent Review8mo ago - Shawsheen Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have had our girls at Dayspring since 2008. 12 years later our youngest is graduating. We have seen this school grow and develop in it's academics, arts, leadership, outside opportunities such as seminars or other events for students to attend. The teachers here are amazing.Probably the thing I really appreciate the most is the senior mission trip where the seniors go on a mission trip outside of the US to see how other countries live. Students have the opportunity to look past themselves and get involved in a foreign country community, help the people there and learn how blessed they truly are here in the US. They meet awesome people, help at schools, churches, food delivery to those in need, help build a home or school or shelter. They also tour the area to learn more about the area. They have been to Cuba, Mexico, Guatemala, Europe, and Argentina.Parent Review4y ago - St. Mary's Catholic School
