Central High School

I have 3 kids that go to chatfield ( 3,2, and kindergarten) and 4 more to start over the next few years, they have been in other schools around the valley and i wouldn't put them in any other school. I love the teachers and staff. My children and I feel they are safe there. My children had struggled before they went here and they have excelled far beyond what we could imagine.

I felt the teachers were very caring! They have a lot of structure to their homework and are in constant communication with parents. We moved and my kids started a new school in an area of town that is more "prestige" and yet the school is no where near as good. I am looking into changing schools, because I want the best for my children.

My 2 daughters go to this school and I am seeing all the improvements they have made and it has made a huge difference! My kids are excited to go to school, the teachers have been very communicative, respectful, and my kids are flourishing! There has been many updates to staff and support staff, social emotional learning strategies, there is much added support for kids with special needs and learning disabilities now than there ever was before, and they are even in the middle of planning a huge playground remodel to ensure inclusivity, safety, and overall physical and mental health of the student body. I would highly recommend this school!

Thunder Mountain has the small school feel to it. The teachers my children have had are loving, supportive and easy to speak to. They have great family activities that I thoroughly enjoy.

My daughter attends this school and the first few years were good but within the last year it's been ridiculous. My daughter hates school, fights me to go and is just unhappy. The school doesn't do anything about bullying as her friend is being harassed by a group of peers and the teachers have been calling her a liar and not listening and helping to mediate or solve the problem. My daughter is struggling in all of her classes and gets no help from anyone. I am not a fan as also during one Halloween I put black makeup on my daughter for her costume and it didn't come off all the way the next day so the school officials pulled her aside and questioned her about who hit her and then proceeded to question my other daughter as well as file a CSP report. When I called the school multiple times when I heard about the incident, none of the school officials would call me back. It was way more drama than I needed to deal with and a simple phone call would have been nice. I don't recommend this school to anyone until the district pulls their head out of their butts to solve their bullying problems not only from staff but from students too.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Did you know that they have 3 padded rooms for children at this school: elementary, middle, and high school? IEPs are not followed. Documentation is not kept well. This school treats children like inmates, proving the school-to-prison pipeline. The school district does not have children's well-being as a priority. The staff is abusive both verbally and physically. There are no accommodations put in for children with diagnosed disabilities such as autism and ADHD. They ignore these diagnoses to implement their own absurd beliefs. Blaming children for their inadequacy. The support system for children at this school is subpar, and they prefer to force the parent into a situation where they claim this is the best option without revealing that there are better options. I believe this school should be shut down, and a thorough investigation should occur upon the staff.

Great principal, but with that being said a lot of the other staff is very passive aggressive.
