Keller Elementary School

I honestly love the school and the principal they bring an atmosphere of togetherness. They are very empathetic. There’s great turn around for family events and love the humble families that attend gatherings. I know students struggle in that zone in education and it’s a misfortune to the students that excel academically as they feel “out of place”

Moving my child from Carver Elementary to Penrose was the best decision I have ever made, 3rd grade teacher Mr. Mann helped inspire my social awkward child to blossom. He was so amazing in communicating with me weekly on her strength and weakness. He is always responding to me in a timely manner. I honestly can write so much more about Mr. Mann. Teacher of the year is an understatement He should be teacher of the decade.

Currently I have a 2nd grader and a Kindergartener.Our family has been at Rudy Elementary since January 2022. Our personal experience over the past couple of years has truly been remarkable. My child came into Rudy with an IEP and Rudy welcomed him with open arms. The teachers and I have been able to work as a team throughout his early childhood to come up with plans and solutions for a lot of his behavioral and academic concerns. I was never made to feel like I was being a burden or a bother when it came to addressing issues with my child's care and education. Even in more recent times, that have brought more adverse situations because of my child's behavior, I was consistently reassured that we are a team and I have support from within the school. I have appreciated the communication throughout the years and I would recommend Rudy to anyone, but especially anyone with a child in need of a great SPED team. The entire SPED/Psych department is great, but I need to give a specific shout out to Rudy's Special Education Generalist, Brandy Loseke. She has been a blessing to my child's life and we need more educators like her. She always makes my child feel loved and wanted. She has the, "you CAN do it," attitude that so many children benefit from being exposed to.It was a no brainer to also put my 2nd child through the preschool program here at Rudy. They are currently a kindergartener here and so far it has also been great. The Kindergarten teacher is consistently updating us parents of their classroom activities and milestones. The opportunity to be involved in the classroom is always there, even on field trips. Rudy has also presented my family a sense of community and a plethora of new friends. There are activities that the school organizes scattered throughout the year that make the year exciting for the kids and their families.

I have been going to start for five years and the school is terrible well from my experience. First of all they barely take any action on kids or bullying others. and they really don’t give a proper punishment like having the kid sit against the wall for pushing someone is not a good punishment. Second of all lunch is a nightmare from my experience and it may be a nightmare for your kids for lunch staff are very rude they yell at you all the time and the others they just play favorites like how is this a good school if the teachers are playing favorites and they’re rude to the kids seriously..? Whenever we get substitutes they are always very rude and the subs are just rude in general it’s quite sad to be honest.. (I know i’m not using good spelling etc just bare with me) The school is very understaffed and don’t give the proper communication if it’s snowing harder if somethings canceled they don’t do the proper precautions to tell the parents or let them know that it’s canceled. so stop before you choose the school make sure that this is the right school for you.. I mean scott has a good community.. But the school itself just sucks I’m glad it’s my last year here now but they should make it fun and NOT miserable especially for the new students or younger kids.. This school has taught me so much, and I made so many new friends that will help me learn and grow into the best me that I can be and I will do my best to be an amazing person who can help everyone that needs it.
