Wonderful school but more importantly, amazing parent involvement. This is a small community school and it really does feel like family.

What once was one of “the best” elementary schools around has become one of the worst. We toured the school when Principal Jenkins was still there. When we began, he left. We’ve had 4 principals in 3 years. Staff is fleeing. Parents are pulling their kids out left and right.Principal is cold, dismissive, defensive and won’t address any of the myriad of concerns the parents have. Safety is apparently not important and not a concern. homeless all surround the school. She doesn’t answer emails. Oh and not to mention you will be HOUNDED for money. all the time. If you have any other option, i highly suggest it!

CDA, once known for its excellence as a school with a highly engaged Principal and compassionate teachers, has faced significant challenges in the past year. Regrettably, these challenges resulted in notable disciplinary and academic setbacks. The proactive parent community has consistently raised concerns and sought solutions, but their efforts have not been met with sufficient responsiveness from school officials. The arrival of a new, more formal, and less cooperative Principal has added to the difficulties.Despite the current situation, there remains hope that the issues can be addressed and resolved. However, for parents considering the school for children beyond Kindergarten, it may be prudent to carefully evaluate the current state of affairs. It is worth noting that the Kindergarten and Pre-K programs continue to maintain their high standards and are still considered strong options.

the teachers were horrible and half of them were crazy. One teacher grabbed a student by the ear and dragged the poor student away. Many of the teachers are disrespectful and horrible teachers. My kid is traumatized from what they saw at the school.

My son have attending this school since kindergarten, when he started back to in person learning he was in 2nd grade. During 2nd grade he Teacher be a I’ll and was out of school almost the whole semester, poor kids in the class had at least 5 substitute teachers, every month was a different sub, there was no communication on the students learning. And there was 4 different principles in one year. So for 3 rd grade I’ve decided to get my son out of that school. Because there was no stability, and I felt that my child was behind in his learning. And I definitely was right because now he is so behind and his education at his new school and it’s almost embarrassing. I had to actually explain to his new teacher that in second grade, he had five different substitute teachers in one year. Ever since the first principal, Mr. Jenkins left this school has went downhill.
