6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBetter now that they have a new Principal. But I still feel like I will end up going back to homeschooling. Schools in Ukiah are dreadful. Esp. for the minorities (white Americans).Parent Review6y ago6 Reviews - Oak Manor Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a student in Oak Manor, and yes I was bullied but then the teachers stood up for me and they treated me like their daughter. Now I am an 8th grader, and I still look back to the school and remember the memories with amazing teachers who helped me a lot.Student Review8y ago3 Reviews - Yokayo Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageKindergarten Teacher Cecilia was one of the worst teachers my daughter ever had. My daughter screamed and cried going to her class for months and she never had this problem with her prior daycare or prior preschool teachers. She didn't learn ANY Spanish in this class. The teacher failed to invite us (her parents) to the school Christmas play that my daughter was in, despite seeing me daily at drop off and pick up so my daughter was ALONE on the day of the play. The teacher gossiped to other teachers about my daughter (I heard this directly from another teacher). We HIRED A SPANISH TUTOR to teach my daughter Spanish as my daughter did not learn Spanish in Cecilia's class. I withdrew my daughter from this school at the end of the academic year and put her in private school due to this woman. My daughter flourished in the Catholic school where she felt loved and cared for, despite having trauma from her experience at Grace Hudson. A loving teacher at the Catholic school worked very hard with my daughter for months to undo the trauma my daughter experienced. The principal at this school was well aware of the situation but failed to do anything about this teacher. I received an apology from a veteran teacher at Grace Hudson (who has since retired) who said she was sorry for how my daughter was treated. When another teacher has to apologize for you, that speaks volumes.Parent Review3y ago6 Reviews - Instilling Goodness Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDo NOT go to this school. Provides no emotional support, and the administration did not care about the well being and success of my child. My perfect, special little princess was discriminated against for not being the teacher's favorite. Do not send your children to this school. I dropped my child out of this school after 2 semesters and the two public schools have done a better job than idgvs did with my child.Parent Review1y ago4 Reviews - Ukiah Junior Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIts a fantastic school. My son has had a wonderful experience and I couldn't ask for more. I am confused with the couple of negative reviews I have read on here, it would seem they are confusing UJA in ukiah CA with another school (seriously).Parent Review1y ago11 Reviews - St. Mary Of The Angels

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe had two boys at this school from 2022-2025. The oldest went for K through 2nd and was entering third grade, the youngest was starting his second year of Kindergarten because they didn't have room for him in first grade when we pulled both of them out of River Oak Charter School. Our oldest was bullied for three years and the school consistently protected the bullies. One of the main bullies in his class was the son of a teacher at the school. To avoid the bullies he would ask to go to Special Ed Office which was used as a 'Time Out' space which they tried to turn into a payday by getting him tested because he “could not focus”. The school went through 3 principals in the last five years. They hired an inexperienced teacher for our oldest 1st grade and she moved up to 2nd with him and then fired her just before she was going to teach 3rd grade and replaced her with another new teacher with even less experience. My wife and I volunteered in classes for 3 years and the classrooms were total chaos. In September of 2025 we pulled both boys out of the school when we found out our oldest son had been chased around the schoolyard by 7 boys for a half hour who, when they caught him, restrained him and took turns assaulting him until it got broken up by staff. I demanded Principal Jennifer Lockwood review the footage from the cameras in the playground and she refused. I have since learned that such a demand created a legal duty for the school to review the footage and preserve it.We put our youngest in 1st grade at St. Mary's and he went from remedial to 85th percentile in Math and English in 3 months and his behavior improved dramatically. We set our oldest up with Acellus Academy and he is doing great working at his own pace. He finished 3rd grade in four months, and 4th grade in three with 4.00 GPA and A+ in every subject. Turns out he could focus just fine without total chaos. He quit asking to take self-defense classes within a week of being pulled out of River Oak and quit wetting the bed after about a month. This school is a raging dumpster fire of incompetence. While there are staff that care the culture is so totally broken that is failing by every metric worth measuring. If you love your kids do not send them To River Oak Charter School.Parent Review1mo ago6 Reviews
