Read what parents are saying about College Oak Montessori SchoolI am about to put my fourth child into College Oak Montessori. I love this preschool! The staff is excellent and they communicate with the parents well. Also, the teachers have been there for many, many years. The kids are taught to respect themselves and others, as well as the environment and all living things. I have seen some reviews saying their children seemed to do nothing. I do NOT agree. I have had 3 kids go through and each one is different in their approach. However, they are absorbing everything. My daughter was writing her name with random squiggly lines and was so proud to show me. Soon after, she shows me what I thought would be more random lines, but it was her name, printed clearly! They all learn at their own pace. Something just clicks and the montessori way allows that to happen and the kids fully understand what they are doing, rather that just trying to repeat what they are told to do. This school has been fantastic for us and I am very excited to start our youngest!
Posted by a parent on 8/18/2013This is more of a reflection on the Montessori Method than on the school itself. During our observations we found that our son was rarely engaged in activities and the teacher refused to do anything about it because "when the child will be ready he will do more" or "maybe he is tired" (at 9am?). These discussions went on for months. Later our son was diagnosed with autism. We felt that it is wrong to leave a child to stare at the window in the hopes that eventually he will engage. Also, at one point we suggested to change to one of the other teachers on the campus in the hopes that he would do better and we faced extreme opposition. We changed school and he has done marvellously well. We know of many students who did really well there - it is definitely not ideal for children with autism, and their inability to listen to our concerns was a big negative for us.
Posted by a parent on 3/9/2011Our son, Misha, attended this school in 2000-2002. Now, 8 years later he is a straight A+ student in one of the best South California middle schools. Thanks a lot to his basic education and love from the school staff. We still remember wonderful time our son had there while we were working hard.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI've had all three of my children attend Biella Elementary (2 still in attendance) - and I live out of the district. My sons have had nothing but the best of experiences with this school and have excelled in their studies. My middle child had some difficulty with his speech early on from 1st - 2nd grade, and with the help of his Speech teacher and his home room teacher, we was able to graduate early - and during COVID restrictions where we had school mostly online. The dedication of the students and faculty has always been the most exceptional! Both students and parents/guardians are supported at Biella! The community is diverse and full of culture and our families all support each other. Biella has always been a pillar of education to our community and being hidden away from the main road keeps us safer from main road traffic hazards. You will not be disappointed by sending your child to Biella!Parent Review4mo ago - J. X. Wilson Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOnly giving one star because I can’t post this review without it .I am a current parent of a student at JX Wilson elementary. And let me just say this has been the worst experience of an elementary school that I’ve ever had the principal Corrina Rice is very into favoritism and accusing one family of things yet not the other for whatever reason I am now having to transfer my daughter to a different school because of said favoritism. I highly don’t recommend the school as there is also a very prominent bullying environment. I dealt with it when I personally was a student, and now my daughter is having to deal with it as well, and nothing comes of it as far as discipline towards the other parties involved. My child somehow always ends up blamed. Shame on Corrina Rice as a principal and shame on the school district for not getting rid of such a horrible principle, that doesn’t do anything I will definitely be telling people not to enroll their children in to this joke of an elementary school.Parent Review1y ago - Roseland Elementary School
