James Monroe Elementary School

I am about to put my fourth child into College Oak Montessori. I love this preschool! The staff is excellent and they communicate with the parents well. Also, the teachers have been there for many, many years. The kids are taught to respect themselves and others, as well as the environment and all living things. I have seen some reviews saying their children seemed to do nothing. I do NOT agree. I have had 3 kids go through and each one is different in their approach. However, they are absorbing everything. My daughter was writing her name with random squiggly lines and was so proud to show me. Soon after, she shows me what I thought would be more random lines, but it was her name, printed clearly! They all learn at their own pace. Something just clicks and the montessori way allows that to happen and the kids fully understand what they are doing, rather that just trying to repeat what they are told to do. This school has been fantastic for us and I am very excited to start our youngest!
