Terrible school. They don’t do anything about bullying. Teaching young kids bad things and stuff they wont understand. Teachers put me down when I went there too.

Posted by a community member on 2/9/2024MY CHILD WAS BULLIED AND THE SCHOOL DID NOTHING TO HELP. SHE WAS HOSPITALIZED DUE TO HIGH STRESS BECAUSE THE SCHOOL DID NOTHING ABOUT THE BULLING. HAVING JUST A FEW GOOD TEACHERS MEANS NOTHING WHEN BOARDER WONT DO ANTHING TO SUPPORT CHILDREN WHO ARE BULLIED OR WITH IEP'S. MY SON HAD AN IEP, GOT MOVE

The teachers are warm, knowledgeable, accommodating, and of the highest caliber. I plan to have all of my children attend this school and many of my friends are attempting interdistrict transfers for 2023/2024
Posted by a parent on 1/26/2023Most teachers only teach to the high kids. There are many complaints that "lower" kids are often bullied and publicly shamed by teachers. My son's friend frequently came home emotional about how he was talked to in his class. Administration is unresponsive.

They both have a IEP and get the services they need. The staff is amazing and very friendly. Ms. Miller is outstanding! 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe 5 star reviews for Penngrove were based on the old Principal that left. Unfortunately the new Principal, Carly Harp, from Rohnert Park Schools, is unqualified, and it shows. The front office staff doesn't even compare to previous years. They are untrained and too distracted with gossip instead of caring for the kids. There are some teachers that are good but under poor leadership shows. The kids that misbehave have no consequences and the other 80% are left to fend for themselves. If you have a child with behavioral issues this school may be the best option with how it is run. The school yard is a free for all and again under poor leadership shows. Too many children are now enrolled at Penngrove and Carly Harp plans to keep it that way. Staff is too concerned with making sure they cover their tracks. There is no accountability. Parents have to constantly fight for their kids. Many long standing families left the school. The school teaches in a very unique way and the children learn and retain their lesson plans. The children on campus are confident and know they have a role to play in the school community and society at large - they learn to be residents of the world, being inclusive of people and stewards of the environment. The teachers are engaging and are excited to be teaching. Teachers are supported at this school. The children are supported with social and emotional support, as well as academics. We are grateful that we found and were accepted to the community and excited to have two children at the project based school next year.
