St. John the Baptist Catholic School

I loved this school for my daughter who attended the school for almost 2.5 years. She entered as a shy, scared and somewhat not knowing what she was getting into. But she emerged as a confident, comfortable ready for kindergarten girl. Totally loved the whole staff, especially Ms. Hazel who has always had a smiling face, willing to help with any issue, and be ready to give answers for anything that bothers the parents. Loved having Ms. Chi as my daughter's head teacher. She really enjoyed everyday of her class with Ms Chi and fondly remembers her as one of her first teachers.

My daughter attended Merryhill for 10 years from Junior K to 8th grade. Our experience was very positive and my daughter still cherishes all her friends, teachers and school staff. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a positive and nurturing environment.Pros: Curriculum is competitive, plenty of extra tutoring help, tight knit community, focus on mental health and preparing teens for high school, strong sports program, variety of extra curriculars, prompt and friendly response from office staff, organized communications from school, recently renovated school facilities and playground.Opportunity for improvement: having indoor courts for volleyball and basketball practice would be great.

This school is next to a large mall and has a compact narrow design making it difficult to navigate. Also not diverse friendly as they have great food like garlic naan on holidays that’s about it if your favorite food isn’t naan not a place recommends for you

The school provides a good environment for the kids to grow and prosper. I do see some variance in quality of teacher when it comes to english as a spoken language but they are all well trained and with the standardization of curriculum, all kids receive a consistently good experience. They always focus on overall development with strong emphasis on Art and Music along with academics.I do wish the quality of PT was better.
