I went here for 4 years until I moved on and it was an ok school. If you want to be treated terribly compared to everyone else (if you aren’t in the 54% Asian) then it’s ok. But it not, I wouldn’t really recommend. The teaching is understandable but the teachers are really biased and don’t care to hide it. They can also be really rude and blatant. There is a very big difference in how people are treated and the mental heath/bullying psychologists/counselors don’t help. They aren’t with you they’re against you and will not try to be on your side if you’re getting bullied. They always try to find the quickest way to get you out of their office and to make you not say anything. I used to get bullied and they would not help a lot. I had to figure it out mostly myself. Overall a 3/10 school. Ok teaching, bad counselors and terrible treatment to others.

We couldn’t be more thankful to have our son attending to this school and are so glad we moved to Orchard Hills. They won the Robotics World Champions title out of 550 teams around the world! Everyone including the Principal, the Teachers, and the PTO are a class act and really care about the students. They are equipped with the latest technology to prepare and set our kids for success in the future.

Parking is horrible. Why didn't they let students out to the back parking near the visitor parking, instead of the gym?. That's way the line curve in the school more flowing and the traffic on the street will be better. Traffic line is backup all the way to culver/portola and take at least 20 min to get to school

Dropp off and pock up is a nightmare, parking is always an issue. Math teachers for 7th and 8th grade honors class are not attentive, they do the minimum. It takes them months to correct the exams and they submit the grades last minute. The 8th grade Math honors teacher, is only there to collect a paycheck as he is always involved with his growing family and literally takes months to correct the exams, he skips teaching and completing the curriculum, he assigns projects to boost the grades, while students put so much effort in completing the project, he doesn't even care to grade the projects. He is full of empty promises, I believe teachers should be a role model for students and not cut every corner and be so unreliable, very disappointing. Honors Language arts teachers are great, orchestra teacher is a stellar but Spanish teacher is only there to get the students and give students hard time, but she has full support of administrators.

My child has attended here from 5th - 8th grade, as an honors and gifted student. They have changed principals twice since then. There are some stellar teachers, like Ms. Chung (5th grade), Mr. Perkins (music), and strong math and science teachers (Mr. Nguyen, Mr. Kim, Ms. Jennings, Mr. Ro, Ms. Li). The middle school core teachers can be hit or miss - some of them have been teachers so long, it doesn't matter what they do, they won't get fired - of course, the protection that bad teachers enjoy from seniority status is a nationwide problem, not just here. It is a newer school, lovely facility and nice classrooms, but they have a real problem with traffic for drop off and pick up of children because it is K-8 and the parking lot was poorly designed and way too small. They have a small track, but no soccer or football field - the field is owned by ducks and geese who poop on it. Also the demographics listed on greatschools are incorrect - I would say the ethnicity at this school is about 80% Asian (mostly Chinese, Korean, Filipino), followed by Indian, Hispanic, and about 7% Caucasian, and I can count the African Americans on one hand. This is a reflection of the affluent area of Orchard Hills, which attracts a lot of wealthy, well-educated migrants.
