David W. Long Elementary School

I like this school very much. The teachers are working hard to help the children grow up. Thanks to them for their dedication, both my children like to study!

This school looses your information all the time and is constant asking for it multiple ways. Then have the audacity to say if it’s not turned in by a certain time your child will be dropped , like if the concern isn’t you just lost all my paperwork with information regarding my child’s health, address, and government information. They are quick to retaliate. I get there are so many students per adult but staff here never remember or treat each encounter like it is a new encounter. This school just feels more like an inconvenience and it’s just tiring. I am really appreciative of Mrs. Clark. She has made the previous school year tolerable. Thank you Mrs. Clark!

I went to Hemlock when I was in 1st-5th grade (from the 2019-2020 school year to the 2023-2024 school year) I don't go here anymore but when I went here it was ok-ish. I learned what I needed to, but sometimes teachers can be a bit rude. In my 5th grade year, a girl was crying because our teacher yelled at her because she didn't understand a problem. When she finally answered the question correctly, she went back to her seat crying. Our teacher then went to her and told her, "I know that you're sad about this but I do not care at all." I still had a fun time here but the kids could be a bit mean. Other kids enjoyed their experience here. It varies from person to person.

I will say I think the expansion in the area was too much for the school to handle. Hopefully things will be able to improve with the new Elementary School opening in the next few years. There are too many kids, and not enough support. It has been a HUGEEEE downgrade in my kids schooling since moving here.

They lost my son. Not a safe school. Absolutely negligent.
