Old Orchard School

The MAC community became a second home for my daughter right from the start. Over the past three-plus years, we have watched her grow from a curious toddler into a confident, joyful, and capable child ready to take on the next chapter. Every day was filled with learning, kindness, patience, and encouragement, and those moments shaped who she is becoming. We are deeply thankful for the opportunity she had to learn, explore, make friends, and feel truly seen and valued. Being part of this community during such important early years has meant more to our family than words can express. These years will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we carry forward immense gratitude for the love, guidance, and foundation you gave our child.Thank you for being such an important part of her journey.

We have been very happy with St. Lucy School. The teachers, faculty, and administration are caring and supportive, and they truly want the best for their students. The parent volunteers are amazing and make a big difference in the school experience. St. Lucy has a wonderful sense of community, and the involvement of families and staff makes it a very special place.

We transferred our son to this faith-based school for 4th and 5th grade, coming from a public school environment. I am writing this review not to tear the school down, but to provide honest, essential insight for other parents who may have a child who struggles with foundational day-to-day skills like organization, time management, and keeping track of assignments—areas that many children, particularly developing boys, naturally lag in during these formative years. While the school leadership is very kind, we found that the private school structure has major limitations when it comes to supporting children who need extra help managing their workload. Our biggest hurdle came in the 5th grade. Because of the high number of students in the classroom, the teacher openly shared that she simply did not have the extra time to provide the individual reminders and check-ins our son needed to manage multi-step projects and daily homework trackers. Over time, the daily effort to help him manage his day stopped, and he was unfortunately left to fall behind. Our child tested very high in mathematics in state testing (which helps the school), but got a D as a final grade because he needed extra help remembering to turn in his completed assignments, something that the teacher was apparently unable to help with. This only hurts the student transcript, the school will benefit from the high test scores he’s produced for them. In my opinion, this environment practices an unspoken form of "counseling out." Because the school structurally lacks the smaller class sizes and specialized support staff required to give individualized organizational attention, the environment naturally becomes so overwhelming and unsupported for a child who processes and organizes their workload differently that the family eventually feels forced to leave. We originally chose a private Christian school hoping for an environment of individual care, but we learned that the system is simply not built to handle students who need a more flexible approach to learning. If your child needs routine reminders, daily planners checked, or tailored patience to keep up academically, please consider this a gentle caution that a school with smaller class sizes or dedicated resources may be a much safer and more supportive fit for your family.

We moved our kids from other school to Canyon Heights Academy and we're so happy that we made a right choice. Canyon Heights Academy provides relationship between teachers and students and the families that helps the process of education and builds the foundation for the students. At Canyon Heights Academy, we see the school provides the highest quality education for our kids in a loving, supportive, and safe environment.

Little Tree Montessori in Campbell is a fantastic find. The dedicated teachers, with consistent English and Chinese instructors in each classroom, create a supportive environment for both children and parents. Even the youngest students (starting at 18 months) learn foundational skills like sharing and social interaction, alongside early literacy and numeracy. The school also emphasizes performance, which builds valuable public speaking skills. We were impressed by how well the preschoolers thrive with the Montessori approach. The optional daily hot lunch, featuring both Chinese and American options, is a convenient bonus for busy families. Compared to other local programs, Little Tree offers excellent value. Both of my sons have thoroughly enjoyed their time at the school, benefiting from the curriculum and the caring teachers.

This is long overdue review. I would like to express my gratitude to Sage Academy for the significant transformation that they have brought about in my daughter's personality. Initially, I was apprehensive about how quickly she would adapt to the new environment, but I was pleasantly surprised when she came back home excited on the very first day. Years later this excitement continued to grow each day and has had a positive impact on her confidence level.I am delighted to see that my daughter has developed a newfound love for reading, which was not there earlier despite my constant reminders. Additionally, she has become more self-motivated, and this change is remarkable. I also appreciate the school's policy of allowing kids to interact with other students from different grade levels. This has been a valuable experience for my daughter.I am thankful to the school's teaching style and Jerry, my daughter's dedicated homeroom teacher, for making this transformation possible. The school has provided an environment that fosters growth and development, and I am grateful for their efforts in helping my daughter become a more confident and motivated individual.I strongly recommend Sage Academy to any family who is looking for an alternative to the traditional education system. In my opinion, Sage Academy is a hidden gem that offers an unique approach to education that is tailored to each student's needs. I am confident that other families can also benefit from this wonderful educational institution.
