Union Street Charter School

We have had 2 children attend this school from kindergarten through 5th grade and can not say enough good things about the school. Every teacher was fantastic and really cared for each individual child in the class and would do anything to help them succeed. Our kids were so well prepared for middle school having attended this school. Excellent art and theater programs. Supportive parents that create a great community for the school. Every grade gets to go on numerous field trips throughout the year, including an end of the year camping trip. Administration staff was also fantastic. Feel blessed for our children to have had the opportunity to go to this school.

Ive had two kids go through this school and its an amazing school. All of the teachers work together to stay connected to the students and help transition through all the grades. There is a big focus on relationships between all grades and "buddies". There is an amazing art and theater program that all kids have access to. There are many supports in place to support all types of learners. The school is a small connected community that educates kids with creative science based education. I can not say enough about the amazing projects, outdoor classrooms, camping trips, play productions and community events.

Good students (to an extent) i enjoyed the campus besides the always trashy blacktop, but the teachers are a whole other deal. Im talking about teachers trying to pressure parents into putting their kids on medication if the child has neurodivergencies, a teacher who picks on students that have not done anything wrong but have a difficult time finishing work, and they did not have any real adaptments for special needs kids until i was in 2nd/3rd grade! (for perspective, i am in 7th grade now.) There was a teacher who had their OWN KID in their class, and she NEVER got in any trouble, even though she would taunt and tease other kids and she would get others in trouble if she did not get her way. they also have a substitute teacher that they have in often that simply CANNOT handle smaller children, she punished KINDERGARTNERS for "playing too loud" and forced them to sit in an uncomfortable wooden chair in the middle of the room and watch the other kids play for the rest of the time they had to play. Overall 2/5 stars, im sure other students/recent alum can agree with that reveiw.
