Trillium Charter School

My two daughters love this school. They have learned so much and are excited to go to school each day. The teachers are positive and work very hard to keep the school a successful learning environment for all the students. There are lots of field trips and fun family events throughout the school year. They have dance class, music class, library and computer class. There is a beautiful organic garden in which there is a planter bed for each class. The children learn what needs to be recycled, thrown in the trash or vermicomposted which is done on school grounds. The compost is then used for the gardens. The school uses solar panels to help light the school. There is bus transportation available for the students. The principle is a very effective leader. The parents, students and the teachers all feel very supported by her. The secretaries are positive and wonderful. I was amazed how quickly they remembered both my children's names when they first began to attend. We have had such a great experience at this school. I am extremely happy that we decided to send our girls to here. There are so many charter schools in the area and we were very conflicted on where to enroll our children but in the end Arcata Elementary School was the best choice for our family!

As much as I find PU charming, I find it terrifyingly lacking in technology! Many of my child's teachers tend to shy away from learning new skills. When are they going to join the modern age? Art and gardening is lovely, but there also needs to be up-to-date computing skills taught as well!

I can’t say enough good things about Arcata Christian School. It’s a safe place for your child to learn and grow. They have rigorous curriculum and the teachers and faculty love what they do and care about the students. So thankful for this school and would highly recommend it!

My daughter completed the whole program from 1st through 6th grade. The sense of community and the joy of learning will last our whole lives. I am so happy to know that my daughter's elementary school was open in person this entire year during this unprecedented pandemic year.

We left this school after 7 years. I didnt realized we were favored until we weren't. The admin at this school is TERRIBE and many students have been severely harmed at theri hand. AS another revewi stated, this school seems to think they are above the law. All they seem to care about is who can raise funds as they were a grower schol and now severely underfunded now that the cannabis industry is gone. They discriminate, alllow abuse, and play favorties depending on who you are. The classrooms are chaotic, bullying is allowed and goes unpunished. There is no support for students with special needs. There was a classmate that couldnt read in 4th grade. it is a diluted version of Waldorff, and the families are clicky and say nothing even when they see the unethical conduct of the admin. Many families and staff memebers have left (feld) since the new principle has taken over becasue she is so awful. The vice principle is gone half time to live in Sacremento and deosnt even have a perosnal email to be reached at. We expereinced some unspeakably horrible things at this school, my daughter was severely injured as a result, which we found out after we left were not isiloated incodents and that this school has a generally poor reputation in our small commnuity. I cannot unrecomed this school enough..RUN the other directiona s fast as you can.

The community is kind a supportive and the teachers welcome parents into the classroom to help with a variety of activities throughout the week. Teachers and staff are awesome, and help nurture emotional and social development, not just academics and art. I feel so lucky that our family is part of this school community!

My son has been at Fuente Nuevs since 1st grade. He is in 5th grade now. It has been a great experience!
