What I value most about Pasadena Waldorf School, is the prioritization of genuine human connection, and a commitment to in-person, teacher-led instruction. My kids have developed deep focus, authentic social intelligence, and a love for the process of learning. The Handwork program is a significant part of the curriculum in all Waldorf schools. At 6 years old, my daughter mastered complex knitting and sewing. The patience, resilience, focus, tactile & spacial intelligence I have seen in her is amazing. She took these skills which she learned in Handwork, and later applied them to reading, writing and math. We lost our beautiful campus in the Eaton Fire last year. Watching the administration and teachers (many of whom also lost homes), navigate an extremely complex situation while honoring community, peace and a dedication to Waldorf education is testament to the type of school PWS is. By grounding education in the physical world and human relationships, Pasadena Waldorf nurtures the empathy, critical thinking, and creative initiative our children need to lead with humanity. It is this type of education that a computer or AI could never replicate.

Our family feels fortunate to be a part of this amazing community. We chose Saint Mark's because they strike a special balance between social and emotional learning and academic rigor while truly honoring childhood through all the various enrichment opportunities and activities. Relationships are fostered and cultivated in an intentional manner so you easily witness and feel kindness and respect between students, teachers, other staff and parents. There are several opportunities to get plugged into the community! So the connections feel real and deeper. The leadership has really proven to be committed to the school and go above and beyond especially in light of the year we have had with the fires. The teachers have also gone through great lengths to ensure that our kids feel safe, secure, and connected. The ratios of teachers-to-students allows for each student to feel that they are receiving full attention and care when it comes to their learning. We are immensely grateful that our two children are truly excited to go to school each day and continue to grow in their confidence, empathy, curiosity, and kindness.

One of the most wonderful Armenian private schools in California! The teachers are very educated and are great with the children. They know how to make them love learning and feel safe at the same time. The class sizes are small, so it's like the teacher is your private tutor.The principal, Mrs Maral, is great and very understanding.
