I love how the teachers interact with the students and how they teach. Their communication with the parents is great ! The community seems very welcoming and will answer questions you might have. Overall I would recommend Rancho Gabriela to family and friends.

He has had a couple of good teachers (Holzschuh, Tippins, Brigham), but the majority I've found to be way under par. The Principal, Mr Kerr, seems to be a very nice, reasonable person. Unfortunately, you have to deal with his assistant, Ms Fischer, who is extremely unpleasant to say the least. My advice would be to avoid her and go straight to the top. Save you a headache.
Posted by a parent on 2/19/2015My daughter was in the sixth grade last year. She was the student of 4/5 of the teachers who are currently still there. All four teachers treated my daughter with dignity and respect. On the other hand, she was a responsible student who didn't cause any problems. Teachers are under incredible pressure to perform miracles with large class sizes and students who come from diverse backgrounds. Furthermore, students often have a perception of a "yelling" teacher that could and many times, is, misinterpreted. All four of the current teachers are highly qualified and work very hard to reach all learners.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have 2 children in attendance at Marley and 1 starting there next year. The Principal and AP have been wonderful and make a point to address concerns promptly and take any bullying seriously. The support staff is wonderful and our daughter has had exposure to speech, a paraprofessional, OT, PT and a resource teacher. The special education staff is wonderful and truly cares about the children. The curriculum changed throughout 2020-2023 and can be a struggle at times but the teachers are supportive and do a nice job providing extra support where needed.
