Read what parents are saying about Phoenix Union Bioscience High SchoolThis is a really great, rigorous school that turns the best of students into even better students. This school has received quite a few poor reviews, which I believe is because this school has proven too challenging for some students. I highly recommend this school, but on if you're ready for a heavy workload, but do know that this heavy workload will pay off.
Posted by a student on 4/10/2021Not impressed at all. As a parent, had I known all of the shortfalls and the points that I mentioned above, I would have not encouraged my daughter to go to Bisoscince.
Posted by a parent on 10/1/2020I'm a senior this year and I can't find the words to explain how grateful I am to my experience at this school. The experience has shaped me into a person I'm proud to be and prepared me for college and for interacting with my community after that. It's a challenging school, but the success I'm experiencing now has more than made up for that.
Posted by a student on 9/25/2017I'm a student at this school and its been absolutely awesome. The jump from a regular school to this high school is extraordinary. I'm in classes where people actually want to learn something new. The teachers there reach out to every student and see how exactly they can help them, and at the end, everybody who doesn't mess around succeeds.
Posted by a student on 5/19/2017I have been really impressed with the curriculum and teachers at BioScience. It is true that they expect a lot from the students, don't put up with 'slacking', and my child has a lot of homework each week. But I've seen a change in the way he is able to view a 'bigger' perspective, and make connections to the real world. He is convinced with hard work, he can change the world, and I believe him. Parents do have to take an active approach to know what their child is doing, and that can be frustrating at times. However, I think the administration and teachers are trying to get the students to be proactive and take responsibility. I receive responses fairly quickly to my emails to teachers, and I have learned to monitor the technology students use, so I'm aware of updates and new assignments. It isn't a school for everyone, but if your child is interested in science and making a difference in the world, I certainly think you should look at it.

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience with the school has been great, 50% of enrollment is open enrollment, teachers are state and Montessori certified. The school leadership is very strong. Parents are required to serve 10 volunteering hours per school year. Even with such high level of open enrollment the school is a Tittle 1, this should be something parents should keep in mind. The school needs a lot of support. Children receive free breakfast, lunch and after school care. Parents should come in with the mentality of helping teachers, asking what they can donate to their classrooms, donating their time and be willing to donate to the school MONETARILY. The outdoor environment(Garden) is fully funded by parents donations. Attending a Montessori schools is very expensive and choosing to attend a public Montessori doesn’t mean stop supporting your child’s classroom needs.Parent Review9mo ago
