Kyrene de los Lagos School

Both of my boys went to this school and loved their experiences with the other students as well as with the teachers. My son would tell Mrs. Friesth that he loved her every day when leaving to go home and it would make my heart melt. The staff at the school, along with the teachers, were absolutely wonderful to be around and it felt like a healthy family function at social events. Thank you to ALL the staff for being so amazing!

LOVE THIS SCHOOL!! I can’t say enough good things about Colina. Everyone is so welcoming. The administrators are SO positive, caring, and support their students and staff with the utmost respect. The teachers are positive and work with so well with all different abilities- it’s very impressive to watch (I volunteer in the classrooms).Colina has so many things to offer the students during and after school. Every quarter they have new fun classes kids can take after school- chess, soccer, piano, drawing, robotics and so much more. My girls absolutely love the pep assemblies where kids get recognized for doing great things at school and being a role model. There are festivals, dances, fundraisers, BINGO nights, other fun events and family dinner nights.When my girls are at school I know they are safe, they are being treated with respect, and they are building incredible relationships with not only their peers, but their teachers as well. My daughters’ teachers take the time to listen and connect with them. Every teacher that I’ve seen looks like they want to be there working for the kids.Colina has PE, art, music, and library classes as well as a technology class where my girls are learning coding and how to make presentations.We toured a few schools in and out of Kyrene district. Colina blew every other school out of the water. For us, choosing Colina was a very easy decision after seeing other options. I was in special education for 17 years and feel like I kinda know what to look for in a school. Colina has a lot of great things to offer and I’m SO happy our girls go there! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

We have been to several elementary schools in the Kyrene District and without doubt can say that our experience at Kyrene Monte Vista has far surpassed our expectations! The level of parent involvement, loving and friendly teachers, long standing traditions and the incredible PTO has been night and day for us and we have loved every second at this school.

This is a school with a very high academic level, with excellent, well-prepared teachers who have a lot of experience. The students have a lot of work during the week, and the teachers know how to maintain their attention and discipline. The curriculum is excellent, and I see my son, who is in second grade, learning happily and consistently. In the classrooms, there is respect, cordiality, and a learning environment. The homework is well thought out, challenging the children without overwhelming them. This school also offers great extracurricular and sports activities, and the atmosphere is excellent.I highly recommend this school.

Summit is a private school tailored to wealthy parents, not to academic rigor and excellence. Academics are not prioritized and instead the school's focus is on social media presence. Middle school math is taught by elementary school teachers leaving advanced students to self-teach. There are little to no protocols at the school. Students who are not the children of donors are left vulnerable and can easily be expelled at the request of another parent or at the whim of the Head of School. Communication from the ahead of School to parents is vague at best and lacks transparency, often leaving families in the dark about school incidences. There is a lack of respect toward families by both the Head of School and the Head of Operations. While there is a strong music and art department, one must consider if the hefty $20,000 annual tuition is worth it.

H have special need student at SJB he love the school so much & all the school staffs love him, everyone knows him even those never teach him they call him by his name and greet him with warm smile, he improve so much since he join SJB.
