Unfortunately, this school has declined in quality. Many of the newer teachers are not certified or qualified to teach, and they often lack classroom management skills, creating negative learning environments. While there are still some outstanding teachers and staff members, if your child is not fortunate enough to be placed with one of them, they may quickly learn to dislike school.The administration does little to support either parents or teachers. They will listen to your concerns only to dismiss them without meaningful action. In some cases, lunch personnel and recess monitors are used as long-term substitutes, which is unacceptable.The facilities are outdated, and the before- and after-school care program is overpriced. Worse, students are left waiting outside for 20–30 minutes after dismissal in extreme heat, often over 100 degrees. Car pick-up is poorly managed as well, taking 20–30 minutes on a regular basis.Finally, although the school advertises itself as a “traditional” school, it uses the same curriculum as other district schools. They do not differentiate instruction or challenge advanced students as they claim.

I love that my daughter’s teacher Mrs. Hill is very communicative with me about her school days and I love the fact that all the teachers and principal are very welcoming, supportive, and interactive of kids. It’s changed from when I went to school and I love it!

Sunset has been a wonderful school for my daughter! She has learned so much and grown! When we moved to Arizona she went to Surprise Elementary and it wasn’t the best experience. Huge shout out to all the teachers so many I appreciate I couldn’t even begin to say. But I will say EVERY SINGLE person that works and takes care of our kids there are the top tier of choices. Natalia is the front office goes above and beyond for the kids and parents. Thank you for everything you’re all amazing! Thank you!

Many years ago, on my son's first day of kindergarten, he was riding the school bus home from Marshall Ranch when an older kid beat him up on the bus, and the bus driver just laughed. We went back to the school which told us they would not discipline the driver for not stopping the beatdown, because "bus drivers are hard to find". I will never forget or forgive Marshall Ranch, ever.

Desert palms is an horrible school but I will never put my child in this school ever AGAIN! My daughter was bullied for half of her time there. She would come home everyday and cry she would lash out on me and her father just because of all the bullying. The school never did anything to help her feel better. A Teacher once ran out of a class just to chase two students then left my child alone in the class with serval students. Sports are okay but my daughter never got to play softball because no one would coach. Another incident that happened was when a student threatened to bring a gun to school and shoot my daughter and her friend my daughter was not involved but just because she was in the friend group she got a threat too. they suspended that student for about 3 days. The assistant principal is rude he always has a bad attitude My daughters social studies teacher was the best and most understandable Shout out to Ms. sovich. Also Mr. gross my other daughters old math teacher was great!
