All my children went to Cato...my youngest is 26. The school was great for the most part. Things have changed dramatically now that my granddaughter is there. My daughter deliberately chose to live in Cato district so her child could go to school there but now has major regrets. We didnt know things has gone downhill so badly.

As a parent, I’m honestly very frustrated with this school. Since the new administration took over, everything seems to revolve around state testing instead of what kids actually need. It feels like constant test prep, and real learning and support have taken a back seat.What’s even more concerning is that if a child has additional needs, it doesn’t feel like those needs are actually being met. The support just isn’t consistent, and that’s not okay.I’ve also seen a clear negative change in my child’s mental and emotional well-being, and that’s a huge red flag for me. School should not be this stressful for kids.At this point, I would not recommend this school to other families and am planning to pull my child out.Don’t send your kid here. Honestly.

I appreciate how admin always take and return my phone calls quickly. The teachers really care.

The administration at this school needs an education. Events hosted by the school are chaos, and no staff members ever show up for school cleanup days, including the principal or any teachers. SAD. My childs teacher in kindergarden made an error on her report card, and explained that my child was really at a higher level, but the form was "new and confusing", so it placed my child at a lower level. The teacher did not bother to correct it. Evidently it was too much effort. I decided that day that I would enroll my child elsewhere. Oakbrooke has very LAZY administration and my family will not accept that as "OK".

The most valuable thing my child learned here was what a school should not be. Teachers and students alike often judged rather than supported. Administration had poor boundaries and repeatedly shared personal family matters inappropriately - what should’ve been handled with care became gossip. I had been warned about this place, but I didn’t listen. If you value privacy, emotional safety, and professionalism, stay far away.
