7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn terms of preparation for college, Sussex Hamilton did a well job at preparing you for success. Unfortunately, I had an experience of bullying at the school by one individual. That individual came onto my bus and attacked my cousin and I, and yet the school suspended me and my cousin from the bus and we had to find our own transportation. Poor investigation into the situation, in which I still continually got bullied by that same individual. As a second generation kid, it was disheartening to see my mom who wasn’t able to articulate her words, due to English not being her first language, try to speak up for me as I was a freshman at the time getting bullied by an individual who was older than me, only for my cousin and I to get disciplined for a situation that was ultimately just me being bullied by someone else. Hope they’re handling these bullying investigations a lot better now.Other Review1mo ago - Marcy Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was really disgusted with how my family was treated. We were an Open Enrollment family. When I asked for my son to get on a Templeton bus that passed my house every day, I was told to call our resident district to get transportation. After calling the district and the bus companies that served my residential district, they informed me that the Hamilton School District only had to call them back to give the okay for my son to get picked up. The response, “We’ve never done that before, so...” That was it. My son did however feel very comfortable with Mrs. Fuller, the only teacher to try to tap into my son’s mathematics potential. When we did move to another district, we transferred to that school in the middle of my son’s 7th grade year. I called a few times before classes, but during office hours, asking what is required for the transfer. No calls were returned. I called during my lunch hour, the call was picked up, and I was asked if I received and filled out a “withdrawal” form. I let them know that I’d be there in a few minutes to do so, and to pick up my son’s belongings. The form was waiting for me when I got there. I filled it out as I was checked in without my ID (I had been there a few times before so it was already in the system). The principal retrieved my son’s gym items while I got his things from his general locker. The principal met me by my son’s locker and began tossing his things into the bags that I was using. As we walked back to the office, I asked, “Is there anything else to do?” The principal responded, “I don’t know, but let’s check with the ladies at the desk. We walked in and the principal asked, “Is that it!” The secretary said, “Yes, I think so. That’s it.” I said, “Okay?” The principal said, “Okay, bye!” and went back to his office. Very personal experience at this school (enter sarcasm).Parent Review4y ago - Check out schools near 4907 N 125th St.
