7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHad two boys go through LC, terrific academic school. Great athletic programs, but should compete better due to numbers and socioeconomic level. Both boys took numerous AP classes and participated in numerous varsity sports. I’m sorry to say that the principal has two standards of discipline for the students, he has one standard for black students (enabling) and another standard for the rest of students. LC has a very diverse economic and racial enrollment. LC does not have a racial or violence problem, but does have a culture problem. LC also has a very strong alumni support group due to its 100+ years.Parent Review9mo ago - Shaw Middle School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is ran like a prison. Constant student fighting and vaping and the staff are careless. The students are guilty as soon as they walk in the school and they are expected to act like they are adult. The safety officer is lazy and the sits around. The education is far below what they would get at nearby schools because the students are so out of control. Both of my kids have been assaulted seriously at this school and the school never reported either incidence to me.Parent Review6mo ago - Stevens Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTerrible. Rude teachers with tenure who cant control classrooms. A disgusting principal who calls children tattle tales and tried to explain the difference between reporting and tattling while also explaining that children are at fault when they get bullied. How can you report misconduct when you are called a tattletale. He has created a crooked system where he can subjectively determine who is worthy of being treated with dignity and respect.Parent Review6y ago - Check out schools near 1911 E Cataldo Ave.

"Affordable and close to downtown and GU campus. A working class neighborhood with lots of families. Lots of dogs and cats here. It's quiet most of the time."

"The commute to work is very short, less than 10 minutes to downtown. Traffic from here to downtown is usually minimal, even at the 5pm rush hour. The main bus lines run through the neighborhood on Napa and Mission. I would not recommend walking by yourself at night, but during the day it is generally safe to walk around. There are a few liquor stores and gas stations that are a short walk away. Nice bars and thrift stores on nearby Sprague. It has been gentrified over the past 5 years or so and has continued to improve. However, this means rent is increasing quickly..."
