5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has been going to this school for 4 years now. They have been bullied constantly every year, and it got so bad last year that my child was getting physically pushed to the ground, punched and kicked almost daily. When my child would tell the supervisors, they said they would handle it but then do nothing. My child then went to the teacher and she also did nothing. We addressed the issue with the teacher and she blamed us, said our child was overreacting, and asked if there was something going on at home! We then went to the principal and she had no idea that the physical abuse from constant bullying was going on and she said she would address it. It did seem to get better after that, unfortunately it was towards the end of the school year after years of trying to get them to do something about it. We had hoped that maybe this year would be better, but my child has already been tied to a tree with a jump rope and whipped, and their shoes were taken off so they had to walk in the mud with just socks back to class! The supervisors again do nothing. This school is horrible at protecting their students, horrible at upholding their "anti-bullying" policy, and I find it ridiculous that my child should have to fear going to school everyday and come home with marks from getting picked on with absolutely no action being taken to stop it.Parent Review2y ago - Horizon Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLong journey to get my 8th grader transferred from his last school that was full of bullies to Horizon. I am so freaking happy it finally happened in Dec. 2022. He's only been there for a month but oh my his attitude towards school, teachers, sports, me has totally flipped a 360. He's back to loving school, he doesn't argue about going, he catches the bus on his own every morning, I haven't missed work in a month. He's currently in their STRIVE class/program and with the teachers help he is succeeding, something he wasn't doing at his old school. My son is thriving which is awesome. Couldn't say enough about this school. And he's back with his elementary principal which he's always looked up to. This school even has security cameras in the parking lot, something I've never noticed in others. Safe, organized with buses, parents, communication is a plusParent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 11324 E 36th Ave.

"If you're talking about greenstone properties development, I'm been here 8 years. It's got crowded people that don't live here come Here Is the problem for me? And I don't really like the idea. Without gating community, it is caused a problem for me. I can't hardly walk my dog sometimes. There might be 4 people walking I'd like to see the area gated with a key. So the only access to this place would be the people that live here. It's gotten polluted, people are breaking the fence. They're breaking the The bench a The shooting area and also other areas. They have broken, then I can't even tell you. So open gated HOA is no no"

"There are children around but only by necessity as rent is very cheap here. It is absolutely not friendly, one of the most dangerous areas in Spokane. Prolific trash and dumping, as well as a very heavy homeless population. There are obvious signs of drug use, as well as public drug use sightings increasing. People drive extremely fast and recklessly depending on the road. Not a place for children."

"There are a lot of dogs here. Some people clean up after their dogs. Some dogs are loose because of homeless population. Not a family friendly area."

"Great neighborhood with amenities like parks, groceries and speciality stores. Convenient to get downtown via Southeast Blvd. Easy to get to the I-90 freeway to get to the Valley, Airway Heights, and area near the freeway. Not as cozy a neighborhood as the west side of the South Hill. More commercial but you get the conveniences."
