6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrific experience with this school at every turn. During the first 34 days I had seen more significant issues in Alpac than I have sending my child to public school in the last 5 years. There is a significant amount of bullying within the school. Staff is rude, pushy and under educated. Attempted intimidation of multiple parents that I have spoken with. Child safety is not a priority after school limited supervision is given allowing children to wonder off or be picked up by anyone without staff noticing. Young children are sent on the incorrect bus routes. The pick up and drop off system is an accurate reflection of the lack of organization skills within the school's staff. After arriving to school kids walk around the front of the school after picking up breakfast unsupervised by staff right next to a main road where they can be taken without being noticed. This allows any elementary student to leave the property unnoticed by school staff. There is no lunchroom. Any stranger entering the building to get to the office will immediately have access to students getting their lunch which is a huge safety concern because anyone is allowed through the front doors. I have never seen any school or childcare facility have such little regard for the safety of the children. I highly recommend avoiding this public school at all costs. Waver into another school, k12 or find a private school scholarship program for lower and middle class families. This school has had a negative emotional and psychological impact on my child and entire family over the course of just a few weeks with back to back negative events. I have never had a single bad thing to say in regards to a school previously. There are additional significant issues that I will not state at this time to prevent from being identified as a parent of one of the students. This school alone could drop property values in the surrounding area.Parent Review6mo ago - Olympic Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLiterally go to any other school. I had to go to the superintendent to get a response from the principal about what happened to my son at school. He came home with a bloody nose one day and a concussion the next. Kids here are doing terrible when it comes to testing. They do not follow IEPs at all and do not respond to emails regarding the matter. If I had the opportunity, I would pull my son from this school. A few teachers take a slight interest in the kids that's what the one star is for, but it is far and few between. Hopefully this change in staff will improve the school but I doubt it. When principal jumps ship you know it's going down.Parent Review1y ago - Auburn Riverside High School

What Locals Say about Auburn

"For dog owners specifically, they shouldn’t run into a problem. I do take notice in the fact that a lot of neighbors own pit bulls and with that comes the violent stereotype of aggressive pit bulls. Maybe depending the size of the dog some people might want to steer clear of those with pit bulls and rather go to a dog park or something like that."

"Too many hills. Many stray/loose dogs that are aggressive. Personally have been attacked while walking my dog."

"Every Fourth of July people will go out in the street and light off fireworks. It’s a nice event that everyone participates in and usually people are pretty clean about it."

"I hear gunshots at least 3 out of 7 nights per week, sometimes more. I know there have been home invasions and drive by shootings very near to where I am. I would not raise a family here. "

"Lakeland Hills is a beautiful community. We’ve lived here for two years and have loved it! It feels very safe, great for walking, and our kids love the many parks around. Restaurants, gas, and a grocery store are conveniently close. In my opinion, it’s the best neighborhood in Auburn. "

"I've lived in many different parts of Auburn over the past 3 years. Over the years the local area gets worse and worse with homeless people and drug addicts everywhere. there are sirens blaring 24/7, it is not safe to leave packages at your door. my bbq was stolen off of my porch along with a bike and a small padio set. you can not leave your car unlocked for fear of will be raided and or stolen."

"Homelessness and filth abound. Property is trespassed regularly and theft is common. Upkeep of the area is pathetic. Drugs are prevalent. People are rude. Employees with certain institutions take after the vagrants of the street in their conduct and demeanor. Recommend residency elsewhere. "
