6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIrving Middle School offers solid preparation in algebra and geometry but lacks in overall readiness for high school. While the student body is generally okay, instances of racism are concerning. It's a mixed experience with room for improvement. The staff at this school are the worst people I've ever seen at any school. The strict policies make it difficult for students to really enjoy attending and engage fully in their learning experience. Other than that, this school isn't the worst but I wouldn't recommend sending anyone hereOther Review2mo ago - Orange Hunt Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has attended OH for two years. We have loved all of the teachers he has encountered and they have really helped our son to become a motivated learner. With that said, I wish the administration were a little more engaged with families. It feels as though we aren’t welcome to come to the school, and there a very few non-military events that parents can attend. It would be great to involve the community more. The school is in such a great location to really invite parents in to be a part of their child’s education. Another thing I don’t love to hear, are the stories my son comes home telling. It seems like there are quite a few disruptive students in his classes and not a lot is done about the disruption to learning. While I recognize my child may be exaggerating, I’ve heard from families around the neighborhood who have similar experiences with their kids saying the same. It’s a little cause for concern that kids get to disrupt the class and be disrespectful to teachers and nothing is done about it. The German Immersion program is great too, however, students who are not part of the program lack enthusiasm for that specials.Parent Review11mo ago - West Springfield High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWest Springfield is a big school, and the majority of the students and teachers here are nice. As a student with a 504 plan, for the most part it has been respected and implemented properly. The school is safe, and we have regular drills and very clear procedures. I will point out a few problems: This is an achievement-oriented school and there is a lot of pressure on us to take Honors, AP, DE, and get straight A's, be in honor societies, and be on a sport's team. They are trying to support student mental health and wellness, but the time where we did that was when we can work on assignments and study for tests. The teachers care about our mental health, but the student mental health lessons aren't helpful. This led to more stress because we had less time for our assignments, and we get a lot of them and I have had up to three tests in one day. Incidents where students use offensive humor (racist, sexist, homophobic, ablest "jokes") should be taken more seriously. On multiple accounts, I have heard my peers use the r-slur, racial slurs, racist jokes or say "special ed" as a derogatory term.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 6955 Conservation Dr.
